I wonder, anybody is still hiring him. The way, he left Spectre in a mess should do him in.

Someone's comment about the history of this thread prompted me to go back to the beginning and re-read many of the posts.

However SP plays out in the long run it was quite a ride getting there.

He's an Oscar nominee. That's often good for some interest. Meanwhile, Logan wasn't the only one responsible. He was working with closely with Mendes.

That's what HE said. But what about the stories of how Mendes was shocked, when reading the script? That speaks another language. IMO, he trusted him too much.

Mendes apparently even wanted to bail from directing after the script fiasco.

    I did it too, once.

It's hilarious in hindsight, especially because I was one of those who was 100% sure that Bond 24 wouldn't be titled "SPECTRE". Even when they announced it, at 10 a.m. on December 4th, I thought the website which reported it was wrong.

So, now that Spectre is fully released, and the only thing we'll be waiting for is the release of the film on home video, are we going to presume the next adventure might be called The Death Collector? I, for one, when it was revealed to be a previous placeholder for the 24th entry in the series, thought it sounded like a Jeffery Deaver title than Fleming-esque.

It won t be called that. May I suggest
    SHADOW OF THE SCYTHE
    straight out of Fleming.

Might seem nitpicky, but I don't want the next one being one word, or starting with the letter 'S.' Let's shake it up after 'Skyfall' and 'SPECTRE.'

Mendes was asking for more time for Logan to work (emails that came out from the Sony hacks).

Meanwhile, a director is *supposed to* be checking back with the writer. Ditto for the *producers* and the *co-producer/star*. If Logan really, really messed it up all by himself it was because the producers and co-producer weren't doing their jobs properly.

If you want to take credit (and Mendes takes credit for almost everything) then you also have the responsibility.

  • Also, remember that Logan was brought into Skyfall by Mendes. He was Mendes' guy. If Mendes really, really was caught off guard by Logan's first draft, then Mendes was asleep at the switch. Ditto, Broccoli, Wilson and Craig (in his co-producer post).

Yes, thank you everybody. The updates on the OP got away from me, but I never imagined we'd get 859 pages into this thing when I started it.

    Good work all!

Ironically enough I started a new job on Monday but my previous job I started work July 2013 the same week the director and Release date of Spectre was announced and my last day there was the US release date. And of course weirdly enough this past week the first bit of bond 25 news was announced (mgm would announce its distributer in February)....

This has been a fun run still shocked that they used Spectre as a title but over all the film was good I look forward to seeing it one more time this weekend and then seeing the DVD show up in my Easter basket (as a devout Christian I do enjoy getting something 007 for both Christmas and Easter just how I am I suppose)

Of course over the past year (I bought a new house with my wife a year ago) I had every bond film on in the background as I painted the house I now think around February every weekend my wife is at work (she is a nurse and works every other weekend) I plan on actually sitting down and going from Casino Royale 1954- Spectre (skipping Casino Royale 67 as I never have seen it and I don't think I ever want to) at one per weekend my guess/hope is by the time I am done we should have some Bond 25 news.

Yes, he and his son Gregg shake hands with C right before this scene.
