    I was always under the impression that they didn't use anything. Just cued up cause and effect explosions.

    No, i am fairly sure that they use some sorts of bullet to create the proper effect.

    What a lovely idea. Quite something. I'm going to miss Judi in these films. A great talent, I'm so glad she was a part of it all.
