So have they completely abandoned the Quantum angle all together?

I've heard rumors that they have, which makes no sense to me. Even though I thought Quantum of Solace was an abomination (only due to the writer's strike and Marc Forester's acid-trip of a directorial style), I still felt the Quantum story had a lot of potential going for it. Not to mention we never received any closure with it.

So is there any truth to the rumor that the Quantum angle has been trashed? Or has it been shelved? Or neither?

  • Not going to happen as far as I know, QUANTUM will be back it's just a question of when and who is in charge.

In Skyfall, M mentions Bond has been in the agency for a while now. In QOS, he's still a rookie agent. Perhaps, during the time inbetween, Bond already stopped Quantum?

    I doubt it.

    Look at the Connery films.

Dr No - Spectre (the start of, anyway)
    FRWL - Spectre
GF - No Spectre, completely separate villain
    TB - Spectre
    YOLT - Spectre

Now look at the Craig films:

CR - Quantum (the start of, anyway)
    QOS - Quantum
SF - No Quantum, completely seperate villain
    B24 - ?
    B25 - ?

My theory is their following the Connery era. If B24 and B25 are the same story split then I would bet they will conclude the Quantum story in the same way both TB and YOLT did.
