    My account has been hacked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it's different, the user name is using 'O' in place of the zeros in your user name. You need to look close. It's probably the same guy trolling from last night.

I saw that, but was busy at the moment and didn't examine it closely enough.

I probably would've had the same reaction. Hopefully your friend won't be back.

Danny Boyle Eyes Trainspotting Sequel for 2016

    By Zach Dionne
Danny Boyle is interested in celebrating the twenty-year anniversary of 1996's Trainspotting by adapting Porno, author Irvine Welsh's sequel to the original novel. "I don't think there will be any barriers to Ewan [McGregor] or any of the cast coming back," Boyle says. "I think they'll wanna know that the parts are good so they don't feel like they are letting anyone down." He adds that "the only criteria" is to not disappoint fans of the original.

With Rupert Wyatt leaving The Equalizer recently, I think it could be him.

Not bothered a bit. Now if only Logan , with P&W gone, would not write TWINE v.3.
I liked Mendes direction and the movie as a whole, but I don't want it redone again. Lets move forward. New original script inspired by Fleming and a whole new perspective from some hungry director who knows his/ her Bond.

I agree @Samuel. He's one I'd definitely add to the list. I think it's safe to strike off Danny Boyle and Chris Nolan for Bond 24. I'm surprised Matthew Vaughn wasn't considered ahead of Guy Richie with the William Hill bookies as his Secret Service is only in development and hasn't been green lit yet.

Vaughn gave EON the "it was Casino Royale or nothing" talk, so I don't know whether the bookies knew this or not but I can't see him being chosen.

Yes, you might be right, @Samuel. He also said: “I was very keen to direct Bond. I don't know if I am any more, to be blunt, now that I've done this. [X-Men; First Class] really love Daniel [Craig], though you know, it might be interesting if they one day decide to cast Fassbender as Bond, then maybe I'll go 'Hey!'"

Just found out that Rupert Wyatt is busy with Birdsong so he now seems unlikely.

That is a shame. Though with no filming dates it may be pushed back. It depends. Mendes' film On Chesil Beach was and that never happened due to Skyfall.

Not to mention the fact that there has already been a TV adaption of Birdsong last year starring Eddie Redmayne and Matthew Goode.

Looking into it, he was part of Birdsong again in February - a film on the go since 2009 - but only dropped out of The Equalizer this month.

He's still my pick. For now.

Deadline, who are often in the know, broke the story and said:

Rise of the Planet Of the Apes helmer Rupert Wyatt broke off talks to direct The Equalizer at Sony with Denzel Washington. He had another obligation and skeds ultimately didn’t mesh, I’m told. Sony and Escape Artists will lock in a helmer shortly.

Sony would be OK with him leaving one of their films for another.

Hmmm he left the Planet of The Apes sequel to do that film so that "other commitment" must be a good one.

I'd have no problem with him. Rise of the Planet of the Apes was a terrific film that defied all expectations I had for it

Interesting... I would be okay with this. Though, I read he left The Equalizer film due to creative differences. But moving on to Bond would be much better for him. Good digging.

I take it Thomas Newman won't supply the score then. ;-)

I'd love to see what Newman could bring to a 2nd Bond score. But I'd also be ok with Arnold coming back to see what he can do after a break. I guess it depends who the director will be. Really hope this is announced soon

I think we should call ourselves lucky if we know by the end of this year. ;-)

I want to know yesterday but there you are: they mostly announce this stuff rather late in the game, no? :-)

The first news about him directing SF came in January 2010. Then he was confirmed in March or April just before the delayment.

January 11, 2011 was the first "official" comfirmation of Mendes, Logan, and the release date. If we are getting this film in 2014, that's already behind schedule. Although Skyfall is a different story because of the MGM stuff. Hope we hear something by the end of summer

We normally get the news on who is directing six months before filming begins, so like Quantum Of Solace we'll find out who in June/July. Nothing to worry about at all. Don't panic Mr. Mannering!

Deadline said he has "another obligation". Could be Bond. If not, the news just happened to come a day before Mendes bowed out.

Only on the film for two weeks!

If I had to bet on a name right now, I would bet on Wyatt :-B
  • I just don't see it being Rupert Wyatt...

My money is still on Joe Wright.
