John Gardner's Scorpius (1988) - The Most Prescient James Bond novel?

Do we here at MI6 Community consider John Gardner's Scorpius (1988) to be one of his more prescient James Bond novels? After all, it is the novel which features a suicide bomber plotline, years ahead of Al-Queada suicide bombing insurgency attacks in war-torn Afghanistan and Iraq from 2001-present. The Father Valentine front also referred to the televangelism scandals of the late 1980s, as did the character of Professor Joe Butcher in the following year's Licence to Kill (1989) James Bond film (of which Gardner also wrote the novelisation, of course).

Interesting nonetheless!

I have uncovered a lot of new behind-the-scenes information on John Gardner's Scorpius which will appear on The Bondologist Blog hopefully later on this year, so I'd really love to hear your views on this Bond novel.

I'm currently reading Scorpius in my Bondathon. So far, i'm enjoying it, moreso than Nobody Lives For Ever & No Deals, Mr Bond. I could be well wide of the mark, but this book gives me a 'Satanic Rites Of Dracula' vibe.

Some time this year. I've had access to some new information from a secret source. That's why it's an exclusive.
