If you can get a big-time director and singer involved before securing a distribution deal you have a better advantage in the negotiations. Despite this, I, too, am not confident they're seriously searching for an artist this early.
Better than Sam Smith's crying and sobbing, aye? ;)
But seriously, talking about KINGSMEN, why not have Sir Elton penning a song. And maybe even have hom perform it?
Nah, I suppose, people here would not support this idea. ;)
The trajectory does suggest Shearan but may be the choice of director will play a large part as well. i get the sense Mendes was quite involved in the choice of Adele and Smith.
Sade would have been a Great choice back in the 80s/early 90s.
There have been so many 'should have beens' over the years. Winehouse and Ronson obviously. I always thought Portishead were a shoe-in back in the 90. They were huge fans of Barry - their albums are infused with his influence. Or even Massive Attack.
2. The Week’nd
3. Lady Gaga
4. ArcticMonkeys
Go to the originators of their sound Radiohead & U2 rather than the combined tribute act, CP haven't done an original thing in their entire career.
I really wish they'd become conciously uncoupled and put us all out of our misery, they are no better than Oasis when it comes to presenting anything they've actually come up with themselves rather pilaged from other sources.
Gaga & The Weekend might be interesting but The Monkeys would be my no. 1 for the job out of those 4.
Here is the thing: the past two themes were commercial. If EON goes that way again and wants a band, Coldplay would be a logical choice. British? Worldwide commercial appeal? They check the boxes, which is why I placed them there.
Nah. Any way it's as much about the writing.
Most important for me is a song that's worked into the score. Last time we had that was CR.
No, no - just no to all 4.
Of course.
Yes, and they're English.
Oof, that would be absolutely terrible.
