Give it a shot and see how far you can get through it. ;-) I deserve a Medal of Honor for making it through the entirety of that film. I'm washing the bad taste out of my mouth with a huge, huge favorite of mine: 'Hellraiser III.' Can't get enough of this film.
That movie gets better and better after each viewing.
Pick them all up on blu-ray (yes, even the last one, and make sure you get the newer re-releases so you can get 'Live Free Or Die Hard' on unrated blu-ray) and do a proper marathon. So. Much. Fun.
That's a really nice suit. I would hate to ruin it. ;)
"Clay...Bill Clay."
I remember when my girlfriend got me to finally sit down and watch the 'Harry Potter' films, I said "McClaaaaaaane..." out loud every time Snape was on screen.
Nice haha. :)) I also enjoy the scene I used above too because It's excellent use of dutch angles and the acting between Willis and Rickman. couldn't ask for a better Hero meets the villain scene in cinema. :)
Well Christmas is coming up so I think I'll treat myself to the best Christmas movie ever. ;)
I like your style. I think I'll do the same. I might try to watch all of them in one day. I think another good "Christmas-y" film of sorts is Fincher's TGWTDT. I'm going to watch that and have myself a lot of cigarettes throughout.
Well if I can watch all 5 Death Wish movies in a row, I can certainly watch all 5 Die Hard films in a row. Actually...Death Wish and Die Hard are actually very similar. They both have 3 pretty good films in a row then the 4th one is a small decline in quality and gets a little OTT then the 5th one is a major departure and really cheesy to the original film.
Yeah Paramount produced the Original I believe then the other 4 were produced by The Cannon Group.
Almost finished watching 'Hellraiser 3' for the one millionth time in my life now, and I JUST realized that there's a scene in this movie where the main character wakes up to jazz music playing on a radio downstairs. She goes down, changes the station, and the French song that is playing when Bond and Silva have the 'shooting contest' with Severine is playing. Awesome stuff.
Hasn't that already occured with the release of Die Another Day in 2002 ?
I had the exact same comment in my head, haha.
You should, @chrisisall! When Bogart plays the cool, edgier man, one tends to see what cool was like before Sean Connery called himself James Bond. I think Bogart is fabulous in these movies.
I've been going through a Caine binge lately, buying whatever films of his that I can get my grubby mitts on. I watched this one last night, and I think it's one of Caine best, it's certainly one of my favourite films of Caine's.
Now if you'll excuse me, i'm off to perfect my Michael Caine impersonation while I 'clean up' the streets around where I live...
Make sure you see this in 3d, the visuals are stunning. This was better than expected, lots of exciting moments. When you think it cannot get any worse for our heroine, Sandra Bullock, it does anyway. Special effects are Oscar worthy. the dull moments are very few, and welcome as a little breathing space. Senor Cuaron has made one of the best films of 2013. Recommended.
This film is all around perfection by one of my favorite directors, from the casting and plot to the cinematography and action sequences. The ultimate bank robbery scene in this film gives me chills with how amazing it is, and to this day, it's my favorite bank robbery scene, and most certainly in my Top 5 film scenes. If you haven't seen it, please, check it out. It's truly amazing.
You picked a winner there @Creasy. The bank heist and subsequent shootout is one of the best set pieces ever.
Gave me the idea to start a new thread that I just posted. It's just downright perfect in scale and Mann nails it, as usual.

"Incendies" , Directed by Denis Villeneuve (Prisoners)
A touching and moving film about a Canadian family (Palestinian origin) who lives a true drama when the mother doesn't speak anymore before her death, and the children try to investigate her guilty past...

great film! really tense 2+ hours. great to see Tom Hanks doing serious movies again. the scene where the pirates take over the ship is simply breathtaking, such a suspensful scene.
Despite all the bad reviews I finally got around to watching it. I don't see why people hated it so much. It was miles better than Live Free or Die Hard and it felt more like a Die Hard Movie. Not a perfect movie but I liked it.

I had many complaints with it, but I picked it up on blu-ray for cheap just to finish out my collection for a proper marathon from time to time. It does have its moments, but overall, it's by far the weakest in the series.
