Marnie is a excellent film was underrated for some time, Connery gives a good performance in a complex role. One of my favourite Hitchcock movies. Recommend The Anderson Tapes, a good caper.
Great film, a little long, as with many films these days. I think they could have cut around 10 to 15 minutes of it and not lost any story. Only a minor gripe, in a great
Action film.
Finally came around to seeing this Michael Crichton written and directed movie. It's an entertaining film for sure, especially if you like 70s sci-fi, but I wouldn't call it brilliant. The first hour is quite frankly just dialogue and exposition and it grows a bit dull after a while. However, once Yul Brynner's frightening Gunslinger goes all terminator on us, I'm hooked. In the final act of the film we visit the best sets, get the best acting and experience the coolest moments. So it's definitely a film worth sitting through just to get to the climax.
Curious, you DID see the Blu Ray, correct-?
First time viewing this one, as well, and what an excellent little spy film it was that is just as relevant today as it was back then. Great acting, tons of twists and guessing games in leading to a shocking finale. Plus, many eerie shots of the WTC, both on the inside and the outside. Excellent film, this one, yet another 70's classic.

Anyone recognize Nurse Chapel there on the left?
:D
I can't believe it's taken me this long to watch this film. In awe of it, not many make me happy to be alive! genuinely feel grateful to have watched it and it's instantly one of my favourite movies ever! Blown away.
Better late than never. 6+ months isn't that bad, really... there are several movies I've seen for instance in the past year or so with which I could have just wept, banged my head to the wall, and yelled with frustration for not having seen them years ago.
Glad you liked it. I saw it on opening day and was just in awe and went back a couple of weeks later to see it again. So beautiful. And I love the score - I decided to buy the cd during the first time of seeing the movie... and the darned thing wasn't even out yet. Have it by now, obviously, and it's hypnotizing. I've been watching some stuff about the science involved and tried to get my head around it... I think I may have learned a leeetle bit.
Same! I love the score aswell! Really adds that extra bit of magic and wonder and my God if I wasn't interested in Nolan directing Bond then I am now! Ive been watching interviews of him and I could listen to him for hours! That brain directing Daniel Craig's 007? Yes please!
Thought the acting was brilliant bar maybe a below par Matt Damon. The science behind it all though mind boggling is fascinating and I'm a massive sucker for sentiment so I loved the relationship with cooper and Murph. I recently watched war horse for the first time and thought that was Spielberg at his best as well.
Hmm, ok, I haven't seen War Horse. I'll add it to the very long list... I'm sort of struggling at the moment with the amount of movies, though. And movie related reading and soundtracks. If anyone had warned me about this last autumn when I sat down to watch a movie on tv, I might have ran for cover. Some days I blame Nolan, actually... ;)
Anyway, since you mentioned "sentiment", "war", and "Spielberg" in close proximity... I automatically thought of a movie... may I suggest Zhang Yimou's The Flowers Of War if you haven't seen it. Some of it is... not pretty and quite harrowing, so a word of warning if that's not the kind of sentiment you're willing to deal with. (On the whole I think it's beautiful.) You'll also have to be willing to deal with subtitles - probably; I wouldn't know about your language skills. :)
Yes, the acting in Interstellar was great. I'm sure it helps that I like many of those actors anyway. The girl who played Murph was awesome, too. There are far too few interviews with Nolan on YT for me - I could listen to him for hours, too. I'm already waiting for any news about what he's doing next.
The movie really didn't grab my attention since the very first trailer, and why I settled on watching it, I'm not sure, but overall, I was pleasantly surprised. A good portion of the movie was just how I expected it to be, but for some reason, the latter half of the movie was balls-to-the-wall insane and I loved every minute of it. In the end, it was a very fun way to spend the last two hours.
Second time I see this Norwegian comedy. Hilarious.
