Thank goodness they didn't go with the original ending in which Rocky dies.

This is true. Could be worse.
Agreed. It would've defeated the purpose of the entire spirit of the Rocky story.

My only nit-pick when it comes to Rocky Balboa is the casting of Mason Dixon. Sly said he wanted the authenticity of a real boxer but I feel a stronger actor would have benefited the film. Tarver was adequate but my choice would have been LL Cool J; he would have brought a lot to the role.

Fell asleep before I finished a re-watch of 'The Bourne Identity' last night, so I finished it this morning, watched 'Supremacy,' and am now on 'Ultimatum.' It's been a couple of years since I sat down and watched these collectively; the first one is much better than I remembered, the second one wasn't as great as I had recalled, and have yet to finish the third, though I'm currently enjoying it as much as I always do.

@BondJasonBond006, I wasn't expecting to find 'Creed' hitting my Top 10 of 2015, mostly because I'm not a big boxing fan. However, the acting and execution throughout was great and took me by surprise.

I know I'm in the minority, but I was really let down by the first Bourne film. I haven't even bothered watching the sequels since I didn't care for the original that much.

Me too. Never got beyond the first one. I don't remember what happened in that, and generally find Damon kinda uninteresting anyway, so haven't bothered to try again.

I kinda hated the second for the killing of his girlfriend. Maybe it's just me, but I hate that expendable female shit.

It's been 8 years since I've seen it. Again very impressed by the visuals and the music.
A true masterpiece and a timeless classic.

    QUESTION TO THE FORUM:

I only realised today by stumbling on the info on Imdb that there are two versions of THE SHINING. I have the Blu-ray which contains the European version of the movie, running time 1:59 hours.
I did a little research and obviously there are different opinions of which version is better or if the long version even is considered approved by Kubrick.
But as it is a whopping half hour I wonder if I should get the American Blu-ray and watch it.

Have you seen both versions or only one of them? What do you think about this?

    Snowpiercer (2013)

Fantastic film. Very dark, gritty, with fantastic action sequences and a very interesting story. Great cast lead by Chris Evans, Ed Harris, John Hurt. Visually stunning film. These South Korean directors know how to mix great story, engaging characters and A-class action sequences.

Good question I had forgotten about the additional footage on The Shining. I have the theatrical version on BD, I recall there were more scenes regarding the Shining ability I think, Scatman gets more screen time if I remember... Its been over twenty years since I watched the extended version.

I have watched this several times over the past year or so. One of the best and original films of recent times.

The Killing (1956). This was my second watch of it; it's simply an excellent, entertaining noir film. One of Stanley Kubrick's most underrated, and one of my personal favorites from him.

    Death Sentence (2007)

I'm sure @bondjames, @Creasy47 and @doubleoego have already seen this film, since it was released almost a decade ago, but I've had it on home video for a good 8 years and tonight I finally dusted it off my shelf and gave it a watch...

Absolutely fantastic film. Very dark, very violent, very gory. I've been a huge fan of Kevin Bacon for years, but here is totally blew my socks off. His transformation from loving, quiet father into a blood-thirsty killer out for revenge is borderline insane. Totally unhinged performance. Even if Bacon has a limited body count in this film, he is friggin scary and comes off as a beast looking for blood in the last 40 minutes or so. John Goodman also gives a stellar performance. Tonight, Liam Neeson, and Denzel Washington welcome a new member in my badass father club: Kevin Bacon. When he gets ready before the final face off.. oh shit did I punch the air with my fist.

I found Death Sentence (2007) to be very underrated. My favorite of James Wan's work.

I saw it many years back, don't remember much but it being brutal. It's a soft remake of 'Death Wish.'

Wild Hogs On terrestrial TV quite a average and predictable mid life crisis comedy, with very little crisis or comedy.

    The Hunt (Jagten) 2012

Danish film with Mads Mikkelsen as a school teacher wrongly accused of sexual assault on a child.

Incredibly powerful film with a fantastic performance from Mikkelsen.

One I really had to work up the enthusiasm to see, but I'm glad I did. Absolutely riveting.

Yes, 'The Hunt' was a tremendous film, albeit very emotional.

    Superman-IV.jpg

Easily the worst and to think the director of Captain America almost directed Superman V, with Canon wanting to use cut scenes from Quest for Peace and insert them into V. Back in the 80s Superman decended into Trail of the Pink Panther territory.

I saw it in the theatre, and walked out even sadder than I did after Superman 3...

The Killer (1989) and Hard Boiled (1992)

I have heard about these films many, many times, but I never actually saw them. Until tonight.

Friggin fantastic. Bullets, blood and bodies flying everywhere in absolutely breathtaking and intense action scenes. Chow Yun Fat is a total badass. There's a single-shot sequence during the epic final battle of 'Hard Boiled', and it's one of the best shot I can think of. Just 6/7 different gunfights filmed in one take, stunning. These 2 films are now part of my favorites in the action genre.

I don't know if you can count BvS as a whole Superman movie cause it deals with Batman as well. I haven't seen anyone compare BvS with the other Batman films or rank them as such.

However, having said that, Superman IV is much worse than BvS.

Superman IV is worse than Batman & Robin.
