I just watched MI:3 again. Another great viewing.

MI:3 and Oceans Twelve are two of the best films this century, when is comes to big budget popcorn fare.
  • Did anyone notice the Bond homage at the beginning Jason Lives?

    Right away.

Warcraft possibly the worst film I have seen this year, Kevin Sorbo would elevate this cr@p.

Ghostbusters in Ultra HD one of my all time favourite comedies, this is the best I have seen this film since watching it at the cinema.
  • Wow my first ever viewing of Saving Private Ryan Is on a 4K TV what a truly phenominal movie experience, never have I been so happy not to have seen a film previously.

@IncompetentHenchman - I don't really have a problem with Jason Takes Manhattan, it sits in the middle of my ranking. The death of McCulloch makes me queasy, just thinking about that.... whatever that was in the barrel. It's not so much the drowning, but thinking about having my head plunged into that stuff. :-& That must have been water that had been in that barrel before Pamela Voorhees was born.
The title definitely should have been changed. But other than that, it's... ok, noting more, nothing less.

What do you think about the ending? I really hate it.

You know what, I had actually forgotten about the ending, and I wish it had stayed that way. Even in the world of the film, it doesn't make any kind of sense. If I am not mistaken, Kane Hodder also absolutely hated the ending to Jason Takes Manhattan. I'm sure that in one interview, he said that he tried to have it re-wriitten.
  • The big question is: how do we get from Part 8 to Jason goes to Hell?
At the start of that one, he's back in Crystal Lake like nothing happened.

(Mind you, I'm not exactly pulling my hair out over Friday the 13th logic.... but that did annoy me since I was a kid)

I remember seeing Jason takes Manhattan posters at my local theater-I must have been 5 or 6. I was so fascinated by it! 8-X

I accept that a lot happened between the events of those two films. At some point, Jason was resurrected, and he made his way back to Crystal Lake, or depending on how long he was dead for, the remains of Crystal Lake.

In 3D surround sound it was a intense experience, will watch the beginning again over the weekend.

Superman II (1980). Didn't love it as much as the first time (I probably now prefer the original), but still a very enjoyable, lighthearted comic-book film. This and its predecessor are really the only Superman films I hold in a high regard.

I much prefer the Donner cut of Superman II The film gives glimpses of what might of been.

    Epic scene!

Yes, this is a very large leap in logic. Consider also that the toxic sludge returning Jason to his form as a boy would theoretically mean no more movies as well! I suppose they just decided to start from scratch again. Speaking of which:

Me too! I also love the film noir George Reeves Superman episodes from the '50s. Actually I'll take any of the Chris Reeve films III and IV included over Man of Steel or Returns.

It's a patch work of a film though worth a look it really is for the most part a different film, it also rewrites the end of the first film giving us a idea of Donners original vision.

Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday

I'm not sure if I'll offend anyone by saying this, but I'm afraid this movie is absolute drivel... I'm not bothering with a complete review this time, but I warn everyone: do not watch this movie.

    0/10

    Ranking:
    Jason Lives
    A New Beginning
    The Final Chapter
    The New Blood
    Part Two
    Friday the 13th
    Jason Takes Manhattan
    Part Three
    Jason Goes to Hell

Superman and the mole men starring George Reeves is very good, the film has some profound moments.

  • Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday
Jason goes to Hell was one hell of a missed opportunity. It had all the ingredients to be awesome: a killer opening, a hilarious Kane Hodder cameo where he calls Jason a pussy, the Necronomicon, TONS of gore, and Freddy freaking Krueger's glove reaching from the earth to pull Jason's mask down to Hell!

I remember the months prior to release reading Fangoria, drooling at how awesome Jason looked! I remember seeing the poster at my local theater, with the chrome hockey mask, and thinking it would be the coolest thing ever!!

It was an exciting time. This was the first Friday the 13th of the 90's, and it ended up being the ONLY one!!!

    What.
    The.
    Fuck.

Friday the 13th movies are great fun. I even enjoy watching the 'dumber' ones. We were cheated out of at least 5 Jason movies, thanks to Jason goes to Hell failing so hard.

Most annoying of all, it's happening even now! I long for the days when we had a new Jason movie ever year!

No, it's a gunbarrel homage, with Jason walking onto a similar iris from the right, except instead of shooting the audience he attacks them with his machete, revealing the title.

Just started Romancing the Stone (1984) - which I haven't seen before. Hopeful to enjoy it, since Robert Zemeckis is one of my favorite film directors.

@IncompetentHenchman - I'm going to have be that guy, but I like Jason Goes To Hell. Don't get me wrong, I know why it's disliked, but I like it because it is so different. Not that it would have much impact on your ranking, but which cut did you watch?
