Will do I have watched the majority of Hammer films, is it in The Legend of the Seven Golden Vampires ball park?
Well that's one hammer film I have never seen! :))
Its a madcap Hammer film it probably has the same tone.
Bit of a heads-up, the second film is a cliched John Woo actioner (you can imagine the type), while the third is a sappy poor man's 24/Jason Bourne melodrama.
Ghost Protocol and onward, however, it kicks off, again.
I’ll keep that in mind. I usually hear the latest 3 are the best ones, but I did like 1 an awful lot. I’ll set my expectations lower for the next two anyway. I love Bond and didn’t care for Bourne, so I didn’t know what to expect going into MI, but so far so good.
I will give it a go sounds like a fun movie.

Though just finished watching 6 an hour ago for fourth time I love this film, may get top at some point.

Interesting 3 being your worst, though it is admittedly generic. I was a fan of Woo back in the day, 2 is terrible though highly amusing.
Also 2 being a obvious remake ripoff of Notorious I found jarring though mildly amusing.
And yes, 2 was a very obvious remake of Notorious. The Woo-ism is the only instrument that pushes the film down for me. Otherwise, the plot is very solid.
3 on the other hand had a villain with presence, but nothing beyond that. Its awful sappy melodrama overrides the great villain element in my book.
Melodrama the reason I don't like the last two Craig films.
I think it was fine in SF but it really hurt SP.
SF is a cluster... I would rather watch Die another Day

Already got to see Mission: Impossible II (2000). Certainly felt it was a lot less good than the first. The slo-mo overkill was seriously distracting, and it definitely had too much melodrama. I preferred pretty much everything about the first one to be honest - characters, acting, action, story, music, etc. 2 isn’t a total loss, but it certainly is a flawed action flick. I liked the first half better than the second half for sure. Glad they brought Luther back.
Absolutely, one of my favourite Hammers. Much like Dracula AD 1972, it’s cheesy but oh so entertaining. And they both feature Caroline Munro.
Glad you enjoyed it. A lot of people here don't like it but I enjoy the third film quite a bit.
