I went into this knowing the poor reviews it got, so that helped me from being disappointed. It wasn't a horrible film but it had things in it that were boring and were hard to follow. Me being the sci-fi nerd that I am, enjoyed the two future stories. They are the reason I gave it a 6 and not a 5, plus I really like the poster for this film.
It just has a good sci-fi vibe to it.
How was the Cumberbatch?
Was it your first viewing?!
How did you not see this movie before?!
Long story but yes it was my first full viewing, as the first time I only saw about the first 20 minutes as it was a lads night out and I was completely out it! 8-} As for how come I have not seen it until now? Don't know really? :))
Tomorrow night it is "The Dark Knight Rises" And then over the next few days it will be "War Horse" and "MI4 Ghost Protocol". :-bd
I would say something like, "have you lived on Mars all this time," or something cheeky like that but I still haven't seen The Avengers, so who the hell am I to talk?! 8-}
5 - Friday The 13th: A New Beginning
And now we turn to one of the series' big lows. With Paramount smelling fresh money after the previous entry's success, few attempts were made at stalling the development of the next film in the slasher series. In fact, they got it out in less than a year after The Final Chapter, which, as it turned out, wasn't the final chapter at all.
But where do you go when Jason got wasted last time at the professional hands of Tom Savini? You cheat! And that's what they do in this film. But never mind those details - we wouldn't want to spoil too much. Let's talk about the quality of the film. We bring back Tommy Jarvis, no longer played by Corey Feldman, and put him in a nut house. When one nutter goes medieval on another nutter, the fit hits the shan and Jason shows up again. All this serves but one purpose: to reach the body count quota and never worry about how.
You see, director Danny Steinmann used to work in porn and it feels like he brought a lot of porn filmmaking sensibilities to this project. After about half an hour of film, the story has already reached a dead end so from there on random characters are dug up in totally unrelated situations, only to kill them off almost instantaneously. It's filler material, nothing else.
The final twist is a big disappointment altogether and proves that this film's story has been bleeding itself dry of inspiration from the start. What's more, it could be omitted from the F13 canon if so desired. Whatever feeble continuity exists among these films, Part V certainly doesn't support or contribute to it in any noteworthy way.
But isn't there enough gore and T&A and whatever to at least allow for a good drinking game? I'd say no. The gore is pretty average compared to some of the other chapters in the series and the T&A factor is a major sobering comedown from the previous film too. Not that any of that matters though: A New Beginning is hopelessly lost in so many disturbing flaws that the few good things about it are overshadowed by them.
Final verdict: 4,5/10

Friday The 13th: 8,5/10
Friday The 13th - The Final Chapter: 8,5/10

Friday The 13th Part V: A New Beginning: 4,5/10
This film was actually really good in a great fun at the cinema kind of way. The action and the stunts were bananas. Definitely going to see it again. Evans as the villain was pretty great too but the action....wow, classic OTT amazing stunts. The fun factor alone gives this movie an extra point or two.
9/10
Amazing film! I love every moment of it. GCS gives a sublime performance, one of the best I've ever seen on screen. This film brings it all: historical perspective, the human(e) side of war, public response to warfare and of course action.
One of the best WWII films ever made.
Lol! Well i am not that bad! :)) Avengers is a great movie! :-bd
6 - Friday The 13th Part VI: Jason Lives
After the painful disappointment of A New Beginning, Jason himself returns to set things right. Now a zombie, Jason adds comedy to the equation. And usually I would hate that. But this time, I'm fine with it because it works!
Jason Lives is just such good fun and that helps to get used to the new Tommy, a new batch of disposable teens and some new plot twists. Overall, Jason Lives doesn't have too great a story compared to the previous film but the package is so much better. Instead of focusing on the nonsensical, it actually grabs every opportunity to deliver a tasteful joke.
Jason Lives! and I like it.

Great film indeed. My personal favorite of WWII and one of my top 10 of all films. A real classic.
Saw Into Darkness last night and loved every minute! The cast really got the characters down as there own now. Nothing felt like imitation. I loved all the references to classic Trek lore. It had things everyone would enjoy and it made me tear up in a few places. This is the Star Trek I know and love. and I was proud to wear my costume with my friend.
I was hoping you'd have a great time, @Murdock! :)
This isn't going to be everybody's cup of tea, but I think this could find it's way into my top 5 favorite films. Great performances by Gosling, Mendes, Liotta, DeHaan, and especially Bradley Cooper. Gripping and emotional story line was masterfully written and directed by Derek Cianfrance (a director to keep your eyes on). On top of all that, a fantastic soundtrack by Mike Patton, and great cinematography, I really don't have any significant complaints other than the structure is a little atypical for Hollywood films and may put some people off based on what they may be expecting based on the trailer.
4.5/5
Awesome dinosaur movie :D
I saw it in 2D. I heard the 3D version was fantastic.
7 - Friday The 13th Part VII: The New Blood
Some bits work, some don't. Jason's resurrection comes rather late in a film which at that point has jeopardized itself with a risky premise. There's some Carry and then there's some Carol Ann from Poltergeist, combined in the lead character who's neither sexy nor audacious but confused and angsty instead. With predictable kills and uninteresting victims to Jason's murder campaign, and of all things an exploding house in the woods!, this film falls short on its predecessor's rather engaging new style.
I will give this film one plus though: the legendary built-like-a-refrigerator Kane Hodder dons the infamous hockey mask for the very first time.
All in all, it's a pretty average film in the series. Falling terribly short as a virile and bloody slasher film, it nevertheless keeps the engines running, albeit on the fumes of the previous films at best, A New Beginning excluded.

Good action film that ties things up nicely by linking into Tokyo Drift for the epilogue.
Also,
