I agree, I think it could work on regular consoles. Also, I miss Kevin Conroy.
I do too of course but i like Roger Craig smith
I've been on a TMNT kick lately so I recently decided to check out Batman vs the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I didn't really have any expectations but I really loved it. It's a fun as heck crossover that somehow works very well. The ideas explored in this are really cool and remind me a bit of a specific episode of Batman Beyond. All in all it's a fun love letter to both franchises and I can't recommend it enough. It might even beat out The Dark Knight Returns as my favorite animated Batman film. It's also hands down my favorite TMNT film too. 10/10
Perfect moment. And Shirley Walker's score completes the entire thing.
I should check to see if the score is available for purchase.
It really is a wonderful and actually quite well written film. Even watching it as a kid I never thought the live action Batman films matched up to how good it was (there's been some great contenders no doubt, but even the better later ones aren't quite as solid as this, and Phantasm is essentially half the length of Nolan's films and The Batman).
It is still ranked number one for me, it is the best Batman film.
I secured a copy the moment I could. I listen to it a lot in the car. Great stuff.
I have found it on CD for £31 or a digital copy from Amazon for £8.99, the digital copy is is too compressed when purchasing I want at least 16bit FLAC quality. I will see if I can find the CD at a cheaper price.
I still wonder if John Logan had any say in the script.
*Grabs punk.
"I'm Batman."
*Elfman's percussion kicks in.
Oh yes, still a great movie, the one that set the template for many comic book adaptations to come. Happy 35, B-man. I've seen the future, and you're still a part of it.
Yes, it's one of the most important blockbusters ever made. It proved that unique casting can work. I can't wait for Batman 89 Echoes (full graphic novel) and Batman: Resurrection this fall.
Agreed 100%. BTAS is the best thing to come out of Batman 89. BR is WAY too Tim Burton to enjoy at times.
I like Returns but Batman is only in the film for like 30 minutes. It became too focused on the various villians and side plots
Not to say it’s a bad film at all. It’s actually really great (love Batman’s introduction especially). But I think Returns feels a bit more coherent.
I have the feeling that if someone got out their watch they'd find he was in the film longer than that. Any Batman film with two or more villains has the problem of either runing very long or making Batman an ensemble player. And in BR Batman's tumultuous relationship with Catwoman and need to defend himself from the Penguin keeps him prominent in the film.
By the way, Vanity Fair has a new article that reveals the voice cast of Batman: Caped Crusader and interviews showrunners Bruce Timm and James Tucker. The show looks very promising!
I think if Tim Burton made Superman Lives he would have had a fairer reason for Lex Luthor, Brainiac and Doomsday taking Superman's screentime away. I think that Superman could benefit with a multiple villain story, it would make the villains seem more powerful. Also, Christopher Walken is the funnest villain.
I'm looking forward to Batman: Caped Crusader, I trust the people involved. I just hope that some of them don't fall back on their trademarks. JJ Abrams with his mystery boxes and Bruce Timm with his often weird romances. Otherwise, it's a true watch for me.
As for The Penguin, I could take it or leave it. I'm not the biggest fan of The Penguin, overexposure of the character. I also hope we don't have to watch it to understand The Batman Part 2.
What's crazy about modern blockbusters like this is that you can guarantee most of the cool effects shots are dreamt up by the VFX team. If you watch any breakdown, it's very common that the coolest effects are not the dream of the director or writer.
I hope that Mark Hamill can make a voiceover appearance.
Also, happy 35th anniversary Batman 89, and 9th anniversary to Batman: Arkham Knight!
