What about Batman Begins :D
Possibly the original Tim Burton’s Batman Continues? I still would like to see Joel Schumacher’s Batman Unchained in graphic novel form.
Hamm is the most logical choice to write Batman '89, though I would point out that the film's script was rewritten by Warren Skaaren and Charles McKeown. And I hope Hamm won't use these comics to adapt his unused and unsatisfactory script for what became Batman Returns. The best person to really capture the spirit of the Burton Bat-films would be Burton himself, but of course he's not a writer and would be too busy even if he was. So I'll look forward to what Hamm will do.
Is that the one where Catwoman and several other odd characters are hanging out in a desert resort or was that a different script?
From what I remember the unused Hamm script (you can read the first draft here) was set in Gotham and was about a treasure hunt involving the legacy of the Thomas Wayne and the city's other magnates. Vicki Vale was the love interest and Robin was introduced. The boy's adventure plot clashed with the characterizations of Catwoman and the Penguin, who were presented as more cold-blooded and murderous than in the film and considerably less sympathetic. It wouldn't have been a bad film, but certainly less memorable than Batman Returns.
Could this be what we could be getting? Joe Quinones was the artist on the original pitch and project as well.

Just like The Animated Series! It also looks to have a Batman Beyond influence.
I'll have to check that out. Now that I think it about, the script I recall reading about was probably an unused sequel to Returns. I think the desert resort was actually some kind of rehabilitation clinic Selina had to visit.
The idea of a Joker gang is definitely Batman Beyond inspired, especially with the inclusion of the Dee Dee twins.
They have drawn his bat logo wrong for the '89 costume ;)
Mind you I guess it could be set after the film, and he did change it before Returns!

I really hope that this series stays around for a while. So much potential, that could go far. I hope they don’t leave Kate Leth in the dark.

Snyder expressed interest in December 2020 on writing a tie-in prequel comic book centered on Batman and the Joker to accompany the film, set in the post-apocalyptic Knightmare world and revealing how the Joker murdered Robin before the Joker steals a Mother Box under Cyborg's calculations so the Flash can warn Bruce Wayne in the past.[184] Snyder later proposed a comic book miniseries set before Batman v Superman which fleshed out Robin's death in detail and Batman's descent into a far more vicious approach on crime-fighting before meeting with Superman. Despite the discussions, Snyder confirmed in February 2021 that DC turned down his proposal.
I would support DC comics adapting his story some day.
At least it’s not set in the dcamu I will say this I am hopeful I recently got and will probably watch Batman hush next weekend but I already know that film screwed it’s original storyline so I am curious if long Halloween will be good or not
I hope they will have the guts to pursue a different animation style this time. That part has been seriously disappointing in recent output. City Of Demons was the last good-looking film of the bunch in my opinion.
If its a strong adaption I will be happy, I am glad it's in two parts.
I loved that game, despite the strange gameplay. ;-)
