Other studios release bad films.
Warner Bros.:
Yes, it looks that way. It seems WB wants to continue to work with the filmmakers too, so they must have confidence in them. Again, these directors aren't exactly known for delivering woke material.
lol
I'm fully willing to believe that this movie was so bad that even WB wouldn't release it. Maybe it wasn't the main reason, but it probably did factor into their decision to cut their losses and shelve it.
Ok, that one was indeed dreadful, as bad as WW84.
Was Sanchez trying to make a DC film on the side? ;)
Can't say for sure, but I doubt it was fully to do with being 'woke', if at all. I don't think it was necessarily even to do with the quality per say (although it seems like it was a rubbish film going from rumoured test screen reactions).
I mean, we live in a world where films like Morbius, Suicide Squad and countless other bad and much more expensive superhero films have been released. To be honest, if quality comes into this at all, I suspect it'd have to have been simply dull or unengaging. Not enough bizarre creative decisions that are unintentionally funny nor the potential for people to see it to hate watch.
It is pretty unprofessional regardless though. I know people in Glasgow where it was filmed too. To make such movies in exterior locations streets are shut down, affecting small businesses within the area. Such businesses have certainly lost money as a result of this film, regardless of the minimal compensation payments they received.
That line never applied better to anything. :-D
I have boxes of DVD's in storage that I was considering getting rid of though the way things may go there value is likely to increase over time so I am hanging onto them now.
I have been trying to buy more physical media recently, I went through a phase of buying Batman Animated films on Digital and regret not waiting and buying the Bluray instead.
I love this.
Interest In Superhero Movies Drops, Poll Finds—Worrisome Trend For Disney Amid Marvel Slump

The Batman was not perfect though at least those involved made an effort.
True Fox's Xmen movies were hit and miss though you would get a gem of a film now and again different to what else was out there at the time. Disney Marvel is cut and paste most of the time, a never ending narrative where films are just a set up for the next film etc etc.
Agreed about the X-Men franchise, though I do love the trio of X-Men, X2, and Days of Future’s Past. It’s sad what the MCU became really, I jumped off the train fairly early on because I noticed each film began to feel similar to each other in terms of tone and style. I know that’s gibberish coming from a James Bond fan, but the difference between Bond and the MCU is that you can at least justify having the same tone and style for Bond because it’s just one character. With the MCU, they have an entire catalog of different heroes and stories, even talented directors at the helm, yet somehow all films still lack any distinction beyond surface level details.
Plus Bond films are stand alone films for the most part so there is closer to a story, I am mixed on the DC era experiment.
Most MCU characters literally all have the same personality and crack the same jokes which has gotton worse.
I am a fan of Batman and DC animated films, they just adapt good stories, films really don't need to be linked to each other all the time. Saying that the New 52 films worked well to a point.
Agree 100%. Plus it seems that the Marvel leads are just playing themselves as actors. Cracking jokes that a three year old could come up with doesn’t help either.
Marvel, with the exception of several X-Men films, all work from a safe, consumer-ready template. You can take your children to almost any of the 'MCU' films and they will have a good time (not sure about Dr Strange In The Multiverse though). My food analogy is that DC will cook you all sorts of meals, while Marvel merely offers that same club sandwich, which may be good and nutritious, but rarely thrills anymore.
I have a soft spot for the X-Men films, however. X2, First Class, Days Of Future Past and Logan are insanely good films in my opinion. And then there's Deadpool. ;-)
Superhero fatigue is nothing new. Long before Iron Man it was already hinted at. But there's superhero and then there's superhero. Perhaps it's mainly the 'MCU' that people are losing interest in. (It's also tough for new potential fans to find their way in; think of all the homework viewing that has to be done!) The darker DC films, which better reflect modern society and its struggles, may not yet have run their course.
Also, where's the third party? Kick-Ass and the likes? Image comics, AWA comics and others have interesting material to offer as well. I'm still a fan of Millar's work, for example, but you can't give us the PG version of his stuff (that Jupiter series? Love the book, not interested in the TV series).
Perhaps we should abandon the dogma that superhero stuff has to be about toys and merchandizing, and therefore also about staying kid friendly all the way through. Give us something like The Boys. Fewer tickets may be sold, but not necessarily. Who would have guessed that Joker would haul in over a billion dollars?
No trend lasts forever, but the quality of Marvel's Phase 4 output and DC seemingly perpetually stuck in second gear sure isn't helping sustain public interest.

Still wish it was coming to PS4.

You have won the internet
When talking about Gotham knights I predict much like the last 3 Batman games (Arkham city, Arkham Origins, and Arkham knight)
Joker is the main villain he is controlling the court of owls and the final boss battles is a jokerized Batman
I hope to god I am wrong but everything about this screams they are lying Batman is alive and Joker is the main villain
If I am wrong I will be so happy if I am right I will have been fooled for the fourth flipping time in a row
