Ha, thanks. I loved the phaser in V, but I REALLY loved it in VI all black. And it helped that VI is one of my favourite films of all time.
"What you want is irrelevant; what you've chosen is at hand."
    Whoah...

Oh now you made me want to watch VI again. I love Angry Spock. ;)

I just watched Star Trek: Nemesis (2002) recently. So what is the fan consensus on this one? I thought there were a few James Bond references in it.

Nemesis is considered by most to be one of the worst, but I enjoyed it. It's the Wrath of Khan for the Next Generation.

Yes, I liked it too, though I knew about its poor reputation.

It also has a fantastic soundtrack by Jerry Goldsmith. :)

    Oh yeah.
It's not my favourite, but definitely watchable. The only Trek movie I can't watch again is Generations.

Not the best but still an enjoyable film. I quite liked Tom Hardy's performance. It's kind of sad when Data dies. As far as the Next Generation films go, I like 'First Contact' the best. Love the Borg.

Yes, I was quite surprised when Data was killed off, although they did have the B-4 clone of Data on the Enterprise to soften the blow a bit.

That would be telling. I'm keeping that for an article due to appear on The Bondologist Blog!

Was that a quote from Star Trek?! If so, you forget that I'm rather new to all of this, @chrisisall! :)

That's what Number 2 told #6 in in response to the question, "Who's side are you on?"

Ah! The Prisoner! I have that show on DVD, but have not seen all of the episodes. My favourite is: 'The Girl Who Was Death' as it's very Bond-like.

That was actually an unused script idea for Danger Man!

Speaking of other series, does anyone like 'The Walking Dead'? I love it. Have always been a fan of the George A. Romero zombie flicks too.

Yes, I think I remember reading that in one of 'The Prisoner' books that I have. A strangely brilliant show that.

That's by far the best Star Trek related thing I've seen this year.

    "Shut up, Wesley!"

    Best part, right there.

Of the odd numbered ones I thought III The search for Spock was the best. Of course V and IX sucked anally.
VIII First Contact rivals The Wrath of Khan as the best of the Trek films and I always wished they had stopped here.
X Nemesis was a waste of time.

    Nice one!

I'll try to conceal my elation.
Sorry, Star Trek to ME is more than explosions & a giant bent Enterprise.

Me too. Shatner himself said that the last two films have no heart. The two last Star Trek films are merely action films with little else just like the Brosnan Bond movies. The ST films are supposed to be thought provoking suspenseful thriller/dramas with a bit of action on the side.

And they're good action films, just, why not do STAR TREK in a Star Trek movie?
    :-??

So, to change tack a little, what is the Star Trek fan consensus on Star Trek: Nemesis (2002)? I watched it recently for the first time on DVD and as I'm going to write something on it I'd be really grateful to hear what the fans think on this particular one!

Fairly *meh*. Kind of recycled from Wrath Of Khan, and casting an actor that actually LOOKED like a young Patrick Stewart would have helped tremendously.
