Time will tell, but this would be great news; I am a big fan of Oasis, as well as the solo efforts of the brothers Gallagher . Noel has done several songs that demonstrate that he is more than up to producing a cracking Bond title song. One of his frequent collaborators is the great guitarist, Johnny Marr; Marr is a Bond veteran, having played on the NTTD soundtrack.

I have posted this several times, but there are a lot of new people around here. This song alone would have improved SPECTRE.

I don't dare believe this until it's properly confirmed.

To be honest, I don't see the possibility of Oasis doing a Bond theme, they could've approached them earlier on in their prime and peak, but they never do, then what of now?

Sure, there's a reunion in cooking, but, with EON's habit of hiring the 'most popular' to attract more, new and younger audiences, I don't think Oasis (in this day) is that relevant anymore, also given their age, if they didn't hired them back then, then what more of now? (Given also the disadvantages like again, the relevance and age).

Just over 3 hours to go (if I've got my time zone conversions right). I'm bracing myself to be disappointed.

Yeah. But I don't think it's just Oasis. They are a magnificent band and would be great for Bond. We saw that over the years, and even in Noel's and Liam's separate songs. For example, EON must know what a band like Goldfrapp or Depeche Mode can do with a Bond song, but EON don't want that route. Not that they wouldn't want to, but because of the business side of things.

    The guns have fallen silent.
    The stars have aligned.
    The great wait is over.
    Come see.
    It will not be televised.

I didn't dare get my hopes up but it's official. oasis have returned!

I could care less about them doing a Bond theme. I'm just glad to have them back.

Bit weird not to say who's actually in the band though!

Chris Cornell was not the flavor of the month or at the peak of his fame when chosen to do the title song for CR. I would welcome a similar approach for the next film. As with an actor, choose someone who is right for material.

One way or another, please not another ballad; there will be opportunities for that, but I wand the next incarnation to begin both a banger of a song , one that gets the pulse pounding.

Well if only you'd mentioned it before!

Still pulling for Noel; he could do for the next actor what Chris Cornell did for Craig, begin his era with a bang.

While I'm hoping for a high octane song in the spirit of View to a Kill or You Know My Name, I would not be disappointed if she landed the gig; she is fantastic. I just don't want another moody ballad for the next film .

Down the line, absolutely, but I really don’t want another ballad just yet. I want the new bond to start with more energy.

With that said, having used three consecutive ballads I think the next one will be more in the mold of Live and Let Die, A View to a Kill and you Know My Name. A high energy pulse pounder.

    :P ;)

Totally agree. I think after SP, most fans wanted a rock theme for NTTD.

This one from Liam has a bit of Bond swagger…

(Edit) Wow, these lyrics are very appropriate for Bond’s current state

Oh, I used to go away and come back, back another day
But now I don't know how long

Too bad they didn't reunite in time to score Spectre or NTTD, that would have given the whole "brothers very angry at each other" thing a new dimension :p
