Identical to 007's watch in No Time To Die this 42mm Seamaster, in strong yet lightweight Grade 2 Titanium, sports a brown tropical aluminium bezel ring and dial.
$9,200.00
Nice band.
Anyone gonna buy one ?
At that price only if i win the lottery. And even then, maybe.... :D
I bought it last week-end. Honestly, an amazing piece. I already have the 2015 Seamaster 300 steel on steel (not the Spectre Limited Edition, the regular one), but this is something else.
Congratulations, @matt_u! Well deserved, specially this year. May it last more than a lifetime. Do you prefer it to the 2015 300? I have the 2008 Planet Ocean, but I can't afford these new prices. The picture you posted looks lovely, btw, and a miles better than any other posted online - which speaks volumes on you aesthetic sensitivity :)
Congrats, Mr. Roark.
Congratulations Matt! It looks good that's for sure.
I tried on the watch a few months ago. Very lightweight but I feel it is too expensive for what it is. And after the recent price increase from Omega, it is now $13k+ of my local Singapore currency. Too ridiculously priced I feel. I'll stick with my current trio of Bond watches including the SM300 you mentioned. And the Aqua Terra he'll wear again in NTTD too in the PTS ;)
Enjoy your new watch!
Thanks @Univex you’re too kind. The Seamaster 300 is a great piece, extremely versatile, it’s a restyling of arguably the first modern Seamaster and looks beautiful. This one tho is just so comfortable, given the titanium structure and the Milanese bracelet I just can’t get over it. Plus, the overall design to me looks like a perfect combination of neo-vintage design elements filled with a cool military touch, but it’s still elegant as well, in a complete different way. I also like the 42 mm diameter better than the 41 mm.
The PO is great, it will never betray you!
Well, the price is rather steep compared to the standard edition, that’s for sure, but in the end it’s a totally different and unique piece. Basically Omega has created a totally new version: a new case, a new (more precious) material, a new look, a new dial, new bracelet/strap, new caseback, new crystal, new display… it’s almost an entirely new watch! I bought it in the main boutique in Milan and the price is the same displayed on the site, even tho it’s kinda hard to find. Before I went to Omega I asked for it in a couple of jewelleries in my hometown Verona, where I bought the S300, and in order to get it they asked 700 euros more than the regular price. It’s not a limited edition, but non even a standard one.
I want to buy the NATO strap too for my S300, they’re a perfect match. Anyway thanks you have a lot to enjoy as well. :)
About the patina of these watches, have you noticed any of it on your older models, @imranbecks? I ask because in my 2008 PO, the red end of the seconds hand has almost completely faded, but that's about it. I haven't noticed any degradation on the luminous bits, or any of the sort. Going by your pictures, your watches look in pristine condition, even the mentioned red tail on the seconds hand remains as red as seen on a brand new one. I haven't taken the PO off my wrist for the last 12 odd years, so I suppose the fading on the hand colour is normal, or so they've told me at the store after the last service.
My watches look pristine? I'm flattered. Thank you. My Aqua Terra has picked up some nicks and minor scratches over the 3 years since I've had it, not visible in the pics but they're there. My Casino Royale SMP from 2012 has light scratches around the edges of the bezel and lugs, but thankfully none so far on the bezel insert itself. And yeah, red tipped seconds hand still looks like it did when I bought it at the AD 8 years ago. Maybe it looks pristine because I do my best to baby them, but I do wear them occasionally, but on a frequent rotation as I have about 9 other non Omega watches as well out of these 3 Omega's. When I don't wear them they're in the watch display box, away from the sunlight. Maybe that plays a part. The only Omega that is still near mint is my Spectre inspired SM300 as its only about 8 months old :)
Here's a close up pic of my oldest Omega in all its blue waves glory... Took this late last month. Can't go wrong with the Casino Royale.
How much does the service cost and when do they have to be serviced ?
in 5 years time, give or take. I had mine serviced at 11 years old and it was hell to pay ;) (about 600€).
Don't need to be serviced if the watch isn't causing any problems such as losing/gaining too much time, dead movement etc. I've yet to send mine in for a service because it's still running fine.
How much time (weeks ?) does it take to get serviced ?
Can go up to three months. Mine did.
Careful with that, @imranbecks, my friend, that was my mind set as well. Then I thought I'd send it for a bit of a cleaning and service, and then I got the receipt and the wall in the wallet.
How long have you had it for ?
Do you wear the SMP much ?
Frequently but under constant rotation as I have other watches to wear as mentioned in my previous couple of posts above.
Did you make this pic yourself or find it ?
I didn't make this pic. I didn't find it. I took this pic myself ;)
It's a very cool pic.
I'm still amazed that you made that NTTD Omega watch yourself.
Very interesting.
I wish bond watches were more affordable like Citizen or Seiko watches.
Maybe they should pay more for the rights than Omega ?
I think I prefer Q's watch with the newer blue hands, but with the older cream underside of the bracelet rather than red.
