    Yes a user on youtube was kind enough to reupload the yacht scene from the workprint that was taken down. It features an alternate take of Bond entering by firing instead of pointing his gun. Originally the idea was the Bond would go after Xenia on the yacht instead of after leaving but it was scrapped.

    Yes, this user is me (reupload it for the french dossier of deleted scene http://www.commander007.net/1995/11/goldeneye-les-scenes-coupees/). But what, you say me there was a chase between 007 and Xenia in the boat ? What sources ? Is a rumor ? This chase is in the workprint (smb saw it perssonaly) ? (why you have only 2 seconds of it ?), Because in the movie, we see the Amiral and Xenia leave the yacht with a boat before the arriving of Bond (in the yacth) (and a member of the crew look, calmly, the departing boat).

    Yes some scenes were shortened with the Admiral as well as the other cuts. Also compared to the workprint the final movie made a change in order of scenes. Originally, after Bond leaves M's office we cut straight to Bond visiting Q instead of the briefing scene by Ourumov with Mishkin and after that briefing the scene begins with Bond meeting Wade at the airport. I have made a reconstruction of this.

    I'm trying to decide whether or not I like that layout of scenes in the finished film or in the workprint more. It is nice seeing Bond handle his London business straight through (going from M's office, straight to Q's, then cutting to Ourumov's meeting with the board in St. Petersburg, then Bond's arrival there).

    Sorry for the late reply but I think Martin Campbell wanted to slow the pace of some scenes, I agree that the original sequence looks a bit rushed. Keep in mind that the transition as at 3.15 did not go that smoothly in movie maker so it's a second too short before the music of the St. Petersburg parade begun hence the awkward jumpt cut in the sound. Also something from the workprint is a longer version of Natalya's encounter with Boris and Xenia at the church. After he told her that it's him there's a short sequence where he explains what he is up to and she leaves with them.

    Yes I hope I will get that footage back because it shows a really grittier side of the film which worked better. In the meantime, I've shared this last week. A short clip of an early version of the chase scene without the Eric Serra score. Instead if you listen carefully it uses the music from the runway scene as a placeholder. It was taken from the Goldeneye documentary about Famke Janssen's character.

    I felt this music would have done well in the sauna scene as well.

    Robert just uploaded a new clip: a rough version of the Bond/Onatopp introduction scene.

    Robert also uploaded the helicopter escape scene.
  • One more thing, since Gunbarrels007 only posted the screenshot of the original yacht take where Bond fires his gun instead of just pointing it, I thought I'd post the actual clip itself from moneyofpropre2's YouTube channel.

    Oh, my God, this is more GE workprint than I can handle! :)

    I wonder what cause Bond has for firing his gun on the yacht. Was he originally supposed to go toe-to-toe with Xenia and/or the Admiral, and then chase them to the frigate?

    Is it sad that I can immediately identify anything included and/or excluded in these scenes, no matter how tiny, because of the hundreds of times I've seen GE?

    If you watch carefully, you may see an extra shot of the barrels falling on the guards at the end.

    The extra shot of the barrels falling down was from another clip from the workprint I uploaded on youtube a long time ago but I don't have that anymore. I hope this footage stays on youtube because i'm not going to retrieve deleted videos again. This is all I have right now and i'm also busy looking for other Bond movie rarities, such as the gunbarrel for the 1967 Casino Royale version I read about.
