Wow Arnold looks great there! One part of that article grabbed my attention:
Detective Cheung, who will arrest Kyle and Sarah when they arrive in 2017.

The new 'Terminator' logo (if it is the final design). I think I like the old, rounder one better.

The old one was much better. The new one is not terrible, I think they should've tried to do the new one maintaining the old style.

New one reminds me of Transformers, but I'll deal

The old one is definitely better. I, too, prefer the rounder sides to it, and it's just so iconic. I don't mind the new one, though. They did exactly what @Walecs said: made it their own while retaining the old style.

That's what it reminded me of too. I'd like to see them make the opening credit sequence a memorable one like in the first two films- T1 being the arranging of the letters, and T2 with everything ablaze. I still remember seeing that burning skull in the cinema.

Not actually Genesis news as the link suggests, but rather someone has made a short fan video around John Conner's last recording:

Make what you will of the acting and dialogue- but for a fan video with that low of a budget, the effects are pretty darn impressive.

Breaking news, Terminator fans: He'll be back.

Victor Martinez, concept artist for Salvation, that is.

I suppose we'll see how that goes. He's got a lot of big films under his belt, including 'Avatar' and 'Batman v Superman.'

Not surprisingly, a few more characters from the first film are rumoured to be returning, such as
Detective Hal Vukovich (Lance Henriksen), Lieutenant Ed Traxler (Paul Winfield), Ginger (Sarah's roommate), and even the iguana, Pugsley!

No word on which actors will accommodate these roles, however.

Also, rumours have been circulating for a while now claiming that the film will just be called 'Terminator'- dropping 'Genesis' from the title- which seems to be the case if that pic at the start of the page is indeed the final logo.

That sounds awesome! They should title it 'Terminator 0.5'

Actually Lance could feasibly come back- he doesn't look that different and with makeup you'd never know!

@Master_Dahark, also, it would be nice to see Lance getting some proper work again.

Yeah, Lance coming back would be awesome, plus Pugsley definitely needs the work too. I mean, what else did he do besides Terminator and Licence to Kill?

Exactly! Pugsley turned into an out-of-work alcoholic, I'm sure.

Yeah, he did go off the rails for a little while, but I just remembered he eventually cleaned up his act and scored a role in The Simpsons as Selma's pet Jub-Jub. Good for him.

Thank you for those, I hadn't seen them. It'll be interesting to see how they tackle three time periods in one film.

I'm dying to know what the real story is- particularly regarding the 'aged Terminator'. I know that the story involves sometime in the 1950's and 1984, leading me to believe that Arnold goes to the 50's first- either by a time travel mistake or to to do something crucial there- and waits the actual 25+ years until 1984 to interact with the events of the first Terminator movie.

However I'm also hearing rumors that
part of the movie taking place in 2017, and more importantly, Arnold brings Reese and Sarah there FROM 1984. Anyone who's seen the pilot episode of The Sarah Connor Chronicles knows they do something similar, in an attempt to hide from Skynet

So who the hell knows with this movie. It certainly will be interesting to see 1984's young Arnold go up against 'old' Arnold.

    @Thunderfinger, it'll uhh...be thunder...? Damn.

@Master_Dahark, I heard the same thing. But, how will:

Young, 1984 Arnold fight the Arnold from the future. Aren't they supposed to look different? And I thought the enemy Terminator in this film was being played by Byung-hun Lee?

I love the idea of Emilia Clarke as Sarah Conner, and I am wondering: inspired casting, and/or no brainer?

She looks a lot like her in certain photos, and the right make up should do wonders- which leads me to ask another question: How much hairspray to use?

I am so wondering about the story of the next film. The characters are familiar enough; they even include the T-1000, played no less by Storm Shadow himself. ;-)

It'll take time for me to get used to Emilia Clarke as Sarah. She's yet another unbelievably pretty face in the action genre. The strength of Cameron's first couple of leading ladies (Linda Hamilton and Sigourney Weaver) was that they didn't look like Venuses sent from the heavens; they were real women, women whose looks were far less important than what they did. I'm not saying real women can't be pretty but there's a certain cosmetic sense of 'unreal' to most of our female movie heroes which Cameron was easily able to defy in the 80s and very early 90s, brining us women who outclass the pretty girls in almost every other way. Their beauty exists on a different level. Sarah's attraction comes from her stamina to fight for John's protection and the safety of mankind. Like the Terminator, she won't give up. If all she has left is a nervous twitch in her left arm, she'll find a way to use that in her continuing struggle against the machines. Emilia Clarke can do those things too; but she was clearly also cast because she looks breathtakingly beautiful.

Sadly we are now living in a world where an exiting, funny and unusual film like Edge of Tomorrow flops and Transformers 4 does 100 million in its opening weekend. I despair. Can we blame the studios or are audiences getting what they seem to really want. Expect a sanitised, kiddie friendly Terminator with no blood and guts because you got to get the kids in. New RoboCop ring any alarm bells?
