Fully agreed. This has enticed me way more than any other trailer for BvS. I think Affleck will knock it right out of the park and surprise DC fans and general moviegoers just as Daniel Craig surprised us after those idiots doubted his performance before seeing not even a still of him in the role.
I'm interested to see what the next trailer is going to involve. Many have concluded that that scene is part of a haunted dream Bruce is a having of a world where Superman is allowed to run rampant, basically painting him as a Robespierre like figure sparking a Reign of Terror all his own. Interesting stuff. I just want to see Ben punch thugs in the face, so if we get some of that, I'll be more than happy.
Affleck will knock it out of the park, I am sure of it.
If it is, it's a pretty lengthy dream. The last trailer showed Batman beating the Supertroopers to a pulp. I can easily see it being a dream.
So it's a good bet this is a dream sequence
My best guess is its a DB Mark III
The initial discussion between Clark and Bruce was great. When Bruce said "We just have a bad history with freaks dressed like clowns" :-bd. Then steps in Eisenberg hamming it up as Lex :-q. I warmed up to him after the first trailer but after seeing this he's back to ground zero.
"If I wanted it, you'd be dead already" was a great line and I'm glad it was said.
The modulated Bat voice is perfect for an armored Batman but I'm unsure how well it works with normal Batman.
And assuming that is indeed Doomsday, both his appearance and the fact that he isn't being saved for a later Superman film are pretty disappointing. I was hoping we'd get Bizarro as the main villain here.
Oh, and of course the trailer seems to give away the whole story arc.
edit: it isn'ty, you're probably right
That is the most significant line in comicdom and something every superman hater and batman worshipper who thinks otherwise (and there are many) need to understand and respect but not necessarily like.
I agree some of the action looks like Snyder may have stepped back into chaos action porn territory and I'm hoping that's not the case but damn this looks good.
The thing is with those who think Batman wins say that out of spite. Namely? Fanboys. Sure, my favourite disguised vigilante is Batman, but logic be in use, how does he stand a chance against Superman? What could a human do with a superhuman in a fistfight? It's like Pete Widsom trying to charge at Hulk, for which he is smashed to bits.
Anyway, I'm a fan of both and hope the movie is a success.
I liked the character exchanges in this film. Engaging dialogue. However, like you, I think the action is a bit overwrought. Man of Steel just exhausted me. Sometimes more is less in these cases and that's what I liked about Nolan's take. This seems to be Avengers Marvel territory here.
I'm probably the only one who has no appreciation for Wonder Woman at all so far......I'll have to live with that and try to enjoy the film despite this.
As for ben's batman voice it sounds great what is crazy to me is that it is less then 4 years since The Dark Knoght Rises a film I feared would be the last big screen batman adventure for a good 8 years (which knowing how wb can't get things up and running till forced it would of turn into ten) but here we are.
Pros
Cavil and Affleck are great so far and I really like what I see of Affleck's take on the character he isn't to far into Miller's jerk batman but he also doesn't trust superman and rightfully so.
The costumes and vehciles for batman look great
Irons Alfred is supportive but definitely a bad ass
The bad
Doomsday I felt should of been saved for a solo superman film
Eisenberg seems hammy and over the top
No batman villain (unless we count Luthor)
Wonder Woman is cool but her appearance feels odd and very Marvelish (similar to how the whole Rachel Dawes nonsense felt like it was ripped from the marvel movies of that time namely Spider-Man and a bit of Daredevil)
Overall I am happy but not estatic looking forward to the film of course and will watch it. It feels so strange that DC is again borrowing from Marvel when if you want to look at the full history Marvel tried to follow DC twice really with Punnisher 1989 and Blade 1999.
Again overall I think the film will be good but will it knocks Begins out of my top 10 films of all time and become my favorite batman film no probably not.
This. Seems to be the finale of 'Man of Steel' stretched out throughout the entirety of this movie. Also, kudos to it being yet another trailer that gives away way too much. I'll pass on this, these comic book movies do nothing for me anymore.
- Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck have seemingly nailed their respective roles. Affleck looks like the perfect Bruce Wayne and a very intimidating Batman, probably the most intimidating to date on the big screen.
- Wayne's reason to mistrust and even despise the Man of Steel is a great plot device and a brilliant move in setting the two up to spar while also setting up the beginnings of their cinematic universe.
- I'm gonna go ahead and say it; I like what they're doing with Lex Luthor. The over-the-top, seemingly outgoing public persona mixed with the demented, cutthroat, ruthless psychotic behind closed doors. That whole interaction with Kent and Wayne, the way Wayne just looks like he'd rather slit his wrists than be seen talking with Luthor, hooked me. He's a slimy, manipulative rich youth with too much power. I like it. I don't love it but I think by the film's end we will see a transition to full-blown comic-esque Luthor.
- Doomsday being in the film is fine by me. Gives them the ultimate reason to halt their 'disagreement' for the greater good to take down the bigger threat. Besides, we all know that Brainiac or Darkseid will be gracing the screen come Justice League so there are still bigger fish to fry indeed.
- I'm still not sold on Wonder Woman but I love the costume and I like how fierce and battle ready she looks in what we've seen thus far.
I really do approve of what WB is doing thus far. While Man of Steel wasn't a pitch-perfect starting point, things are seemingly on the right track here with this second film and they seem to be hitting the ground running and pulling out all the stops. I hope they knock it out of the park.
That chacter behind Clark Kent in the beginning look like very much on The Arrow. But The Arrow, TDK or this all same story. After younger joker, now younger Lex but worse choose then Ledger i think. But i always have more with tv series, Superman Returns whas very bad and till Warner release all Super-Man movies on Bluray i can't be intrest those last two too.
