My bad. I knew it was down there and for some reason thought it was at the bottom for you.
Since this thread started before I was a member here, I went back to the beginning to see some of the responses and it seemed very few were agreeing with the original poster as to SF reigniting them as fans. I'm eager to read more.
CR was merely a reminder of the best kinds of stories that the series could tell after not really having a top tier entry since '95. Now, after becoming less than satisfied with how the Craig era has panned out (despite admiring its attempts at something different - it's just not what I want from Bond) I am hopeful that the next "first" film will do the same as what CR did and that the next actor's reign will give me all that I hope for.
I always live in hope with 007.
And mic drop.
Amen!!! The can’t say I’ve ever lost my love for the series at any point in my lifetime. QOS and SP were extremely dissapointing, but they weren’t enough to make me turn my back on the franchise like some did with Die Another Day, and with how some are appearing to do that with NTTD.
GE introduced me to Bond, FRWL lit the flame, but for me CR was the Bond film that ensured that flame would always stay lit!
I could go on and on about Skyfall. For me, it is head and shoulders the best Bond film ever made. Every aspect of it is first-rate and it gets better with each viewing.
The key to SF is Silva. Once you understand him and his capabilities (coupled with his significant personal flaws), the plot of the film makes perfect sense. He is one of the very best villains in the series.
As Severine says, "It's amazing the panic you can cause with a single computer."
