Wise decision
Yeah the earlier trilogies were something that I certainly looked forward to, and something to build towards as a fan. The ongoing trilogy has clearly not been planned out particularly well, the cohesion between episodes 7 and 8 is poor and quite amateurish.
J.J. knows how to make fast paced action and I expect him to paper over the cracks or take the trilogy where he envisioned it to go, I think the trilogy is damaged pretty badly and I have pretty much given up on the overall narrative though I have faith part 9 will be a fun blockbuster finale.
Especially since there has been a “dip in quality”
Talk about mountains and molehills.
There is some real talent working on this show.
“After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe,” read his post, in the style of a “Star Wars” opening crawl. “The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.”
Awesome

He is the best thing about the prequels, Ian is insanely brilliant in Revenge of the Sith
And if he is busy, this man is available now.
This.
- Batman Begins
- Casino Royale
- Mad Max Fury Road
- X-Men First Class
- ...
But then these were soft or hard reboots.
Some would even say reimaginings
What other kinds are there?
