Ep. 15 of TM is another good entry in the series, though not 'great' in my opinion. I was happy to see the awesome Richard Brake and there's some good action, but I found it a tad lacking in suspense and drama, especially to close to the season finale. Nevertheless, an enjoyable watch.

But I'm not against more SW output. I accept SW as a factory, pushing product off its assembly lines as much as possible, and continuing to do so as long as we're willing to buy it. Merchandising is the bread and butter of SW, as it always has been since the early days. EU novels, comics, TV series, video games, action figures, ... in the end, what's another film if not just one more product to sell. I made my peace with that a long time ago.

And so far so good. Disney isn't destroying the film magic of Lucas' SW. Sure, Solo and ROS have their detractors, but like the prequels, they too will grow up and be embraced after careful re-assessment. That's just a matter of time. Meanwhile, The Mandalorian should fill us with confidence. Disney may want the money, but if they can attract good names to a SW project, people who care about the universe and the legacy, who grew up with it and wouldn't want to go crazy with it, then we're good.

So I'm not against another batch of SW films. I rolled my eyes when in 2012, they announced what was on the menu for future Avengers films. And that came together very well too. Let's give them the benefit of the doubt.

They’re definitely going to make everything they’ve announced. When have they announced something that wasn’t made?

Oh, I'm just generally speaking. Marvel, DC, ... those universes continue to announce stuff and then never make it. But hey, Disney can do all the Star Wars stuff they want: I'll happily consume it. ;-)

The Game of Thrones showrunners are waving their hands.

Probably Rian Johnson too, ever since KNIVES OUT was a hit and is becoming a film series.

For me I still struggle to think of anything that was announced by any of these parties that wasn't released. I thought of Affleck's Batman film, but that's coming out as Pattinson's The Batman. To be fair though I don't know a ton about it.

What of Game of Thrones didn't get made? Did the Knives Out sequel get cancelled?

The show runners of GoT were supposed to helm a trilogy of Star Wars films but that got scrapped. Rian Johnson was going to do a trilogy as well, but it looks like he may be focusing on a KNIVES OUT sequel instead.

Let’s see how many people stay on their shows and movies. Star Wars has had a lot of people leave for one reason or another. Mostly because of Kathleen Kennedy’s dictatorship.

Fair enough! I don’t think Johnson’s trilogy was ever “announced” though, think they were just rumours. And I don’t remember hearing an announcement about the GOT show runners doing a trilogy but I could have missed it.

Lots of things that are rumoured never end up happening, but the original question was what projects that were announced didn’t end up happening.

Boba Fett sure did well to survive this....... :)]

Some readers may be wondering what all the hubbub is with Boba Fett. That guy died, right? Yes, if you don't know anything about Star Wars Legends, the now non-canon series of books chronicling the adventures of Luke, Han, and Leia post-Original Trilogy. In one of these books, Boba Fett crawls out of the sarlacc pit that swallowed him whole in Return of the Jedi, and then went on to have more adventures and once again butt heads with Han Solo.

I think it’s pretty dumb to undo deaths like with Boba Fett and Darth Maul, and the latest with Palpatine. Death should be final.

I have no issue with Bubba Fett escaping the Sarlacc with his skill set and armory, its one of the more plausible things in SW.

Yeah, we’ve seen Din come out from inside a Krayt Dragon so this shouldn’t be too different.

So far the only legitimate dud under Kathleen Kennedy was SOLO, whereas all the other Star Wars films were billion dollar hits and now there’s a hit TV series, all leading to even more projects for both theaters and Disney+.

I think it’s safe to say she’s had a pretty solid run with LucasFilm.

And I would say that even the section of fandom who were disenchanted by the creative decisions of the sequel trilogy have been wooed back by The Mandalorian, so swings and roundabouts.

Which is too bad because Solo was actually great IMO. Suffered from residual bad will from TLJ.

That’s why all those fanboys annoy me. I’m not a fan of the Disney Star Wars films outside of Rogue One, but the woman has clearly brought in billions for Disney with those films. I can’t tell you how many clickbait YouTube videos I’ve seen from people saying “Kathleen Kennedy’s days are over.”

I never bought that, especially considering that TROS didn’t bomb. What hurt SOLO I think was that it just didn’t have a strong enough hook for audiences, as well as having a very weak marketing campaign. Disney didn’t even start promoting it until February, just a few short months before release date. Keeping its May 2018 date instead of pushing it to a December date like the other films also hurt it.

Same thing with Alex Kurtzman and Star Trek. The guy relaunched the franchise for TV, but certain YouTube channels would tell you he was fired several times over the years and that each of the shows would be cancelled after one season. I honestly think those sites only exist because they know fanboys eat up confirmation bias, telling them what they want to hear even if it’s lies.

Arguably we have the same "issue" with Barbara Broccoli too - though the amplification of it is limited to within forums like these.

Fair enough, but ROS had lots of time after TLJ. I agree they didn’t market Solo well. My point was it was not as bad a movie as the box office would indicate.

Those channels just thrive on clickbait and negativity. They know that they have absolutely no other ways of bringing in views so they take these rumors from B.S. websites, then run with them as if they’re official stories. I’m also curious as to if they actually have “sources” in these companies. If they do, then they’re being fed wrong information. I don’t know how they still have traction and people who listen to them. It’s one thing to criticize something for not liking it, it’s another to make 5,000 videos talking about how much you don’t like Kathleen Kennedy, it’s so disgusting when they even brag about the views they get from said videos. They’ve already started to target No Time To Die as well because of all the Lashana Lynch 007 stuff, even though none of them obviously know anything of the Bond series. Those people are just gross and despicable.

A YouTuber by the name Doomcock was recently exposed for using made up stories posted on 4chan, and they were posted by someone who wanted to see if he’d take the bait.

Midnight’s Edge posted some BS about NTTD being delayed because of poor test screenings and MGM wanting massive reshoots to erase SJW propaganda.
