I agree. I think his direction on TFA was good, but after TROS, I find myself wishing we had gotten Colin Trevorrow’s Episode 9 instead.
My biggest gripe though is having Ben Solo die at the end. There’s so many opportunities with the premise of Ben Solo staying alive and living the rest of his life trying to atone for something he can never make up for.
I agree, they were great, charming and well-played characters in the first one. But that got a bit thrown away and Finn was pushed to the background way too much.
But yeah, he’s essentially relegated in TROS. That’s frustrating, especially when learning that the original drafts for EP9 had him leading a revolt among stormtroopers in the city of Coruscant, which is like the most obvious direction to go for that character and JJ didn’t even go for it.
Yeah everyone loves Rey!😂
I'm so glad they parted with their hard earned money to shout at the screen and ruin other people's evenings. Seems like the kind of opinion to value highly.
I have no idea why anyone would do that. What’s it going to achieve. Seriously.
A role in the new movies or video games? More Lando the better! Probably the Lando series, though.

Not sure if I will bother watching this, I liked Rebels I bought all the seasons, unfortunately Disney+ has successfully made me apathetic when it comes to Star Wars much the same way I feel about Marvel.
Yep, I actually like the character of Ashoka and think Rosario Dawson is good casting as the live action version but like Andor, the nonsense coming out of the casts mouths while they are promoting it is really putting me off watching it in addition to the absolute train wreck the franchise has been turned into because of KK.
Obi wan Kenobi and Mando S3 pretty much eradicated any good will I had left for Disney Star Wars.
I am currently subscribed to Disney+ as there is one show I wanted to watch which will still be airing when Ashoka debuts so I may watch it we will see, Rosario Dawson is an actress I like.
Keeping all their SW and Marvel content to D+ was an insane thing to do.Completionist fans who don’t like the content will still buy physical media if they come in attractive packaging.
Paramount still put all their Current Star Trek on disc.Physical Media may be on the wane but it’s still an income stream.
Viewers who have not seen Rebels maybe a bit lost, this show is basically Rebels season 5. There are too many fourth wall breaks making visual references to the cartoon, they have also made up some back story I don't recall happening.
Despite the above there was some good stuff in this episode that could be potentially great, if the future did not lead into the sequels I would be even more encouraged, I will try not to let this show be hamstrung by what follows in the sequels.
This show is better than Mando Season 3 and Obi Wan Kenobi, it has a better tone over all. The live action galaxy actually feels big again with a lot of fresh idea's, can Ahsoka save Star Wars? its the best bet for a long time.
I will rewatch the last half of Rebels S4 to refresh my memory a bit more.
This is what I was afraid of.Did they really think casual viewers would go to the trouble of watching a kid’s cartoon show just to be ready for Ashoka? A tv show or movie ( whether it’s a sequel it not ) has to stand on its own.
It’s the same reason I felt I was being punished for not watching Wandavision when I saw Doctor Strange 2
I enjoyed the second episode much more, you make a good point though alienating a large part of the audience from the off is a terrible strategy.
I don't mind it being a Rebels sequel: imagine if you watched that as a kid and it finished when you were 8- you'd be 13 now so this would actually be a nostalgia hit.
I gave up on Mando somewhere in season 3. I liked Obi-Wan well enough. Have no great interest in Ahsoka. Mando seasons 1 & 2 and Andor were both amazing to me. I just might have all the SW shows I need, unless Andor season 2 gets finished...
