This is what I was referencing. I'd bloody love to read it. A lot of us have given P+W a kicking over the years, myself included, but I'd love to get my hands on this, if only to give a better idea of their specific input. With CR and SF either side, were they really all that bad? I know Haggis and Logan added content in varying amounts, but as they say, you can't polish a turd.
As for the deleted end scene, I'd happily see it released, but I'm really not that fussed. It's one scene, of which we know the basic content.
Well. as @MrBond notes, some of it was shown on that Danish TV show so that might be something we could still yet see that is actually real. And that is possibly what I saw. I just can't remember any more than that.
@RC7- I thought the CR script was much better as far as making sense at all times.
The way the book presents it is a case of:
QoS: Haggis scrapped the script and started over but due to the writers strike he didnt have time, so he integrated his ideas into P&W's script quickly.
Skyfall: Logan broke down P&W's script, and built a new one out of it, maintaining a lot of the original script, and continually consulted and worked with them on it to polish it up.
Well, it seems like that clip has been taken down - again. Perhaps MGM/EoN has plans for that scene? ;)
My bet. Its long been discarded.
This?

I've seen that photo before, but I think that's all I've seen in terms of the alternate ending.
Yes, but now it's gone again.
Again? I'm sure it's being uploaded all the time by someone.
This photo is inside the soundtrack booklet... 8-} :-))

Only that he's dead wrong about QOS being the worst Bond film ever. I can think of 5 films that were worse due to poor scripts, outrageous cartoon and camp, CGI, Lee Tamahori, etc. Everyone has their own opinions and I don't claim QOS as even in the top 15 as some would disagree about, but it's not as bad as this guy claims either.
That i agree with, for me it is on #6.
But the information of the script is intresting!
1:14 I found part of the scene again. Lets hope this video isn't deleted.
I assume Bond then shot and killed Mr White after
some of the links i have not provided are merely people transcribing the dialog
Tom Mankiewicz wrote a script that Guy Hamilton rejected for TMWTGG that was eventually rewritten by Richard Maibaum. I wonder what was in it that caused Hamilton to reject it.
Not sure, but I wasn't aware of that story. Very interesting indeed. I had thought that Mankiewicz had reworked Maibaum's original script to include the energy crisis and had then rejected Maibaum's idea of a mano-a-mano duel between Bond and Scaramanga a la Shane as the whole plot as it seemed to simplistic. I could be wrong here. Steven Jay Rubin's The James Bond Films has more on this, so I'll really need to consult that and get back to you, @Perdogg.
Wow! Thanks for that. Are there any links to what the deleted ending was composed of and how it differed from the ending we ultimately got? If so, can someone please provide links?
