I will give you TMWTGG, but DAF and MR are both films where every dollar shows on screen. They had an idea and did their best to develop upon it. They have their share of bad moments, but that is from poor decisions, not a lack of effort. For example, you can't look at the MR PTS and say they weren't trying to do something unique and thrilling.
AVTAK was the first film where I felt that in every vein they were barely trying anymore. The second half of the plot is rehashed from GF and is a non sequitur following from the first half, the editing is noticeably bad in some places, they were not trying at all to hide the stunt doubles, the fights are decidedly so-so, the PTS is a rerun of the much better TSWLM PTS and the performances are average overall. They were sort of exhausted and just did whatever they wanted, knowing it would sell because it was Moore's last film.
Typo??? DAF??? There is not one moment that shouts expensive, except for Connery's paycheck. There's less effort in the exploding helicopters and exploding nuclear bases than the cgi surfing scene
OK, it's been a while since I've put DAF on, but I feel like this problem crops up more towards the end than anything.
I see you have a new appreciation for QoS, @barryt007...
Good stuff!

First time posting my full ranking. Parts shuffle fairly regularly, but my Top 3 hasn't changed for a long time, and my Top 10 and Bottom 6 never mix with the others. Recently, apart from a few slight shifts here and there, the biggest changes have been Octopussy dropping significantly and Skyfall climbing significantly. They pretty much just switched places in fact. Skyfall really does have the best cinematography of the series and some very engrossing and well-directed scenes like the enquiry. I've learned to overlook the gaping plot holes as I do with some of my favorite Bonds like GoldenEye. I'm hoping my appreciation for Spectre will similarly rise over time, but I just can't see it happening at the moment.

Its cemented at the bottom of my list. A lazy, camp and pastiche entry.
I probably haven't voiced my opinions too loudly, but I've held TWINE and QOS in high esteem for quite some time. There does, however, seem to be a steadily growing reappraisal of some of the more modern Bond films that haven't been looked upon too kindly in the past. I'd put Licence to Kill and Tomorrow Never Dies in that same category.
With DAD, for me, it's more of a love/hate thing. As with Moonraker, there is much DAD does right and much it does wrong in my opinion. A solid movie, with superb moments even, unfortunately derailed in the second half by cartoonish and/or overly juvenile creative decisions. Don't get me wrong, they're both films I'm able to enjoy quite a lot in the right mood and the right mindset, but when it comes to finding their places in the overall ranking of the series, it simply comes down to weighing the good and the bad and seeing how far the scale tips.
Ok I admit that, having watched TLD again recently, it does drag a bit. But AT THE VERY BOTTOM??
Above all its badly made. Other pastiche entries like MR are at least well made.
What about Moonraker?
It's at the bottom for me.
It s bad, but at least it has some qualities.
Most members who know me on here will tell you the main reason why its rock bottom ;)
Nope....
Nope...do you want me to tell you or you fancy another guess matey ?
