(had to say this sorry)
This ranking looks very reasonable with no real surprises.
The bottom five of the EON movies are: DAF, AVTAK, DAD, TMWTGG, QOS which resembles the public opinion accurately imho.
The Top 10 also looks astonishingly realistic. I go so far and say, those are exactly the 10 movies that are the 10 most loved by the general public.
Quite surprised at those IMDB ratings. Obviously a lot of people there can be objective.
Secretly, I'm just very happy that Brosnan's 2nd best Bond outing in this ranking -still- is "TWINE". In all honesty, from all of Brosnan's Bond outings, that's my favourite. Michael Apted also gave us a quick future insight in how the Craig films eventually would turn out.
And it DOES seem to turn into a very close and exciting race between "FRWL" and "CR". "SF" is rock-solid on 6th place.
"Casino Royale" moved to 1st spot in the BIG TELEGRAPH POLL:

I don't think it's a coincidence certain films gravitate towards the bottom of lists. When I saw Die Another Day for the first time, I did not understand what I was watching. It required a second view to make any sense out of it. It's the only film in the series where I had that high of a degree of confusion. It's easy to miss small details here and there, but on the whole level, Die Another Day stands alone there.
@BondJasonBond006
As a "defender" of Die Another Day, you have said it's good OTT entertainment. In that regard, it's a formidable picture. Perhaps it was a fitting conclusion to the Brosnan era, at least it probably is for many people. It wasn't a good conclusion to me. That's part of the reason why I was one of the "blonde Bond" crew when Craig was announced. The thought of Brosnan getting the boot without making one more serious Bond was very disappointing to me. I really like what Brosnan brought to the table and think he deserved a more traditional outing, kind of like what he got in Goldeneye, but with the nuances he developed in the character of his last three films.

Observations:
• For the first time since seeing it in theaters, I strongly considered Skyfall for my #1 ranking. It still occasionally knocks on the door.
• For Your Eyes Only took too much of a fall in my previous rankings and have adjusted it accordingly. This is one of a few titles I feel very hot and cold towards. I expect the volatility of its placement to continue.
• This is the first time Quantum Of Solace is outside of my top 10. It hasn't particularly lost its luster, but it's so good in parts it leaves me feeling a bit empty the more I watch it.
• You Only Live Twice got a massive boost. Perhaps I have Spectre on my mind, but I think it's because I've grown willing to overlook its flaws for the adventure that it is.
• Unlike the drop of The Spy Who Loved Me and The World Is Not Enough, Diamonds Are Forever has plummeted in two consecutive rankings. The more times I watch it, the thrills feel cheaper than the substance of the other films.
That' a great top 10. 8 out of 10 are the same in mine (not the same order).
I like it that you are one of those (like me) who has all 6 actors in their Top 10.
Clearly every actor has at least done one movie that belongs to the best.
Bravo =D>
For actors like Moore and Brosnan, who play a more fictional representation of the character, are more reliant on the period of time when they acted the part. Since I grew up in the 90s, I like and appreciate Brosnan's version more. The most natural depictions of Bond are able to transcend the times they are made in my opinion. Connery and Craig will always be great because of the sense of palpable danger. This also applies to Dalton to a lesser extent because he only got 2 films.
:D
I have every one in my top 8. Pretty happy about that
That's called affirmative action!
We all have different criteria. That s diversity for you.

Now you have to see the Principle.
It was a lot of work really :-). But it's nice to see that there are also a lot of positive-spirited IMDB-forummembers (not trolls) who really like the Bond films. And some of them actually went on to get a profile on here, on MI6community.
The poll took me 4 months in total. But if you manage to get 89 IMDB-nerds voting in this poll....then I consider it a mild success ;-). In all honesty? I'm so happy "TWINE" gets a lot more respect on that board. But there was a huge fight going on between "CR" and "FRWL" for the victorious no# spot. I was also surprised that "SF" was rated so high on IMDB. A beautiful 6th place. And lovely to see some real credit for "FYEO" and "LTK", who were really fighting for 11th place.
And if you have a mixture in you're top ten then you are centrist. Anyway, it's fun to see which type of fan you're are.
:)>-
Definitely makes sense in my case that I'm centrist, seeing as all 6 of those are in my Top 10.
:))
Has anyone else done a 'play-off' between two Bond films?
