Jimmy 'card sense' Bond better even than DAD is a stretch but better than QOS, TND, MR, SF and on a par with GE is downright deranged.

LOL I keep moving it. Tough to place it, but I think I've settle it alongside TMWTGG. Peter Lorre is pretty classic.

CR '54 is far from my least favorite Bond film.

I wonder what a 2 hour live TV performance of Bond could be like today

Die Another Day if you can tolerate Berry and bad CGI and TND are just straightforward Bond flicks not to be taken seriously. I really don't understand why consistently so low.

LTK SP and TLD are really bad executed films either in writing and/or production values but yet so many read or perceive so much in those films that just isn't there or there but surrounded by rubbish.

I disagree concerning TND... it rides that fine line between serious & camp like nearly no other Bond with the possible exception of YOLT.

Yes. They are also poor quality scripts (with too much action) compared to the better films.

At least the action cut down on the talking. Awful dialogue between Bond and Jinx.

How can you like Ian Fleming and not like Timothy Dalton?

Anyway, TLD and LTK are far better written than TND or DAD. They present more character development, real relationships and are less straightforward (which is a good thing in my mind).

An atmospheric Cold War spy thriller and Bond goes Yojimbo are more my idea of a good film than shoot-m-ups as TND or DAD.

Some people like Timothy Dalton but feel the two films he was in don't do him justice - he was jibbed of a definitive portrayal. He was close in TLD but there were many hangovers from the Moore era. A lot of the problems seems to be differences in how Glen and Dalton saw the character, and perhaps no-one was quite 100% committed to the change in tone (apart from Dalton)

Dalton's films are still the best 007 flicks of the 80's hands down me though.

My list now including Never Say Never Again.

    1) OHMSS
    2) TLD
    3) CR
    4) LTK
    5) GF
    6) FRWL
    7) SP
    8) OP
    9) QOS
    10) FYEO
    11) LALD
    12) TB
    13) TMWTGG
    14) SF
    15) YOLT
    16) MR
    17) AVTAK
    18) TSWLM
    19) DN
    20) DAF
    21) TWINE
    22) GE
    23) TND
    24) NSNA
    25) DAD

I disagree totally that TLD,SP and LTK are inferior to TND and DAD!
TLD is pure Fleming, and LTK is well constructed Bond thriller, with also elements of Fleming. SP has come in for a lot of criticism, but its streets ahead of DAD and TND which are tedious, empty 2 hours which substitute long boring action scenes and bad puns for good story and strong characterisation!

  • Eh. I was expecting the mention of Licence to Kill, A View To A Kill and perhaps For Your Eyes Only in their respective placements to be controversial.
  • @Birdleson - Well, I have a friend who ought to be a bit more controversial.

He has Brosnan's last three as #22, #23 and #24, and GE is only #17 for him.

We've had people who put all Brosnan, and all Craig, dead last.
The same people would vote for Trump, eh? Silly knows no bounds....

Have you had someone put all Connery last? I know people who think all of Connery's films sucked, except DAF.
