That's where I messed up, so it is a 5-5 tie. Apologies.
I understand completely.
First of all, @WillyGalore better be feeling better by Christmas and be out of hospital. I have my fingers crossed.
For someone to return to the forums like he did is great to see and gives me hope that other members may one day do the same. One of the two Kings of the 'use a Bond line' thread and for some reason, let me win the Caption thread. What more is there to say? Likely a lot, but he is an example how easily you can fit back in somewhere when so much has changed without missing beat.
I salute you!
A picture I got when Googling the term 'willy galore'. Don't do it!
But I am very happy to salute Willy now, especially with his recent hospital stay.
OK, this is funny: I just searched on google for "willy galore" - I couldn't resist. ;)
And all I got was this notice from Google:
We did not find results for willy galore because SafeSearch is active and your query contains some restricted word(s). Try the suggestions below or type a new query above. To search for willy galore, change your SafeSearch preferences.
Ha!! It's not my computer, so I am not changing my preferences. But that is funny.
Much like a Tootsie Roll Pop, women have been spending decades wondering how many licks it takes to get to the center of him, but don't count on them giving up any time soon. He's the universe's answer to cheese covered pizza, massage chairs and hot fudge sundaes and has become such a raw force of nature that he is name-dropped daily during your news station's afternoon weather reports. He's the guy your mother (yes, your mom!) has been going out to see whenever she claims to be picking up eggs and milk at the store, and your father (yes, your dad!) should consider it an honor that his beloved is cheating with such a prime stud. Even after all my accomplishments in life, my parents have still always told me "You're great and all, but you can't touch him," pointing to his photograph on the fridge that now covers up my A+ research paper they had been bragging to their friends about before he showed up. He's @WillyGalore, and love him or hate him (yeah right), he's here to stay, daddy-o.
Though his time here on MI6 has been brief, @Willy has made an impact after rising again from the ashes and returning to talk Bond after a decade long absence from the forums, instantly becoming another part of the family that has been formed here. Though I don't know as much about him as other members here, his wit, intelligence and general talents for making this place a hoot are easily transmitted and even easier to notice. MI6 wouldn't be the place it is without presences like him, which is why I'm happy whenever I see him active on the forums, and I hope he sticks with us for the long haul. I look forward to getting to know him better in these coming days, months, years, decades, or whatever measurement of time fate has in store, and I am more than happy to salute him during this, his special week. Here's to you, Willy, and get well soon!
Here's to our @WillyGalore, from Japan with Love:
They are all saying, "Here's to Willy! Kanpai!"
I don't know when Willy will be reading these (we all hope he gets home soon!), but I think he will be cheered by all of our comments. I just wanted to zen(d) a little Japanese cheer his way, too.
:))
He'll love that, I'm certain.
Having said that, as it may take several days to get back to full strength, it means I'm probably going to have to guide my partner through cooking Christmas lunch, so I may possibly wind back up in hospital come Boxing Day.
In the words of Kamal Khan: "HE'LL KILL US ALL!" ;-)
@WillyGalore Is very funny, he's made some great posts, just an all round top bloke really. Another member that we're lucky to have and I'm more than happy to salute him this week.
So I joined in '05. But enough about me: I'm here to salute the legend himself, @WillyGalore!
When Willy joined, not even so long ago, I was naturally suspicious. With a name like WillyGalore, I feared that Ron Jeremy had signed up - again! So I contacted my friends with the FBI, Interpol and Pussy Riot. But they all confirmed that WillyGalore was 100 % waterproof.
Soon enough, Willy became the voice of reason, expressing his opinions with respect to others who deserve it and disrespect to trolls, the way we like it. ;-) When I started the "use a line from a Bond film" thread, Willy instantly became the prince of comedy on this forum. This man knows how to put the right words in the right place.
I doubt there ever has been a member on this forum whom I have grown so fond of so quickly. @WillyGalore, you rock!
That is rich. :))
"Flattery will get you nowhere. But don't stop trying" ;-)
... that this new member would be an unusually unpleasant troll. I, too, was ever so slightly suspicious at first because of, you know, that name. However, I soon discovered that our Willy has good humor galore, puns galore, film quotes galore, genuine warmth galore, niceness galore, and it's not just about his, you know, that name. So today again, I am sending you salutes galore, dear Willy. Cheers! You made it through cooking Xmas dinner (and I bet it was scrumptious!) - and the day after (which is often more difficult).
A New Year is around the corner, and we shall all be looking forward to reading more from you, the one and only @WillyGalore. :)>-
@Samuel001 I Googled myself once. It was an exhilarating experience ;-) On a serious note though, I can’t imagine what you and your family have gone through of late. I can only give you my admiration for how strong your spirit has been and I wish you all the best through 2014.
@Creasy47 You’ve become a good friend in my short time on this forum. I’m always interested to read what you have to say. Plus as a fellow smoker, you’re clearly one of the good guys! (I still think you’re slightly mad to have got this appreciation of me rolling though) :))
@4EverBonded I was very touched by the get well messages you sent me whilst I was in hospital. It was extremely thoughtful and made me smile. You are yet another valuable member of this community who is so well liked and respected by us all. Thank you so much.
@0BradyM0Bondfanatic7 The spooky thing is Brady that if you met me in person, you would see just how close to the mark you are ;-) What more is there to be said of you? Your post count alone is testament to the contribution you have made to this forum. It’s staggering how dedicated you are to Bond.
@Dragonpol Ah Draggers. You must be the least cynical person on here and I am completely envious of you in that regard. You are so welcoming whenever a new member signs up. I on the other hand, am fairly sceptical of most new members without perhaps giving them a fair crack of the whip. Despite your certain indiscrepncies of a few months back, I’m glad you’ve decided to stick with this community.
@0013 Thank you very much. I must admit I haven’t had much opportunity to get to know you but hopefully we’ll converse more through 2014.
@RogueAgent Yes I can only reciprocate what you’ve said about our similar sense of humour. Like me, you seem to relish the caption competitions and “Use a line from Bond” thread. Long may you continue. (I hope Norwich stay up this season for your sanity’s sake) ;-)
@Mrcoggins Ah me old mucker coggins. Thank you for the messages of support you sent whilst I was recovering from hospital. Cheers Drive! :-)
@thelivingroyale A die hard Daltonite, your contribution to this forum also speaks for itself. I’m feeling like Daniel Craig in Casino Royale - I seem to be saying thank you every five minutes! ;-)
@Thunderfinger Again, thank you for your kind words. Very much appreciated.
@Murdock Yet another of our member who has suffered more than his fair share of grief in these last few months, I’d like to wish you all the best for 2014 and hope life continues on the up. I can’t begin to imagine what it must be like. I want to thank you for your kind words also.
@DarthDimi You are responsible for my favourite threads on this site (and don’t tell anyone but I think you’re the bestest mod). I think it’s fair to say I probably pissed you right off in the first 48 hours of me joining this site. I did that typical bloke think of refusing to read the instructions for new members and therefore wasn’t adhering to the guidelines. And guess what? I still haven’t read them! ;-) Looking back, some of my earlier posts were strange to say the least. It’s no wonder I was suspected of being a troll. Mind you, maybe I am and I’m playing the long con! :D
@Soundofthesinners Again, thank you so much for your kind words (I should have just copied and pasted that and saved the finger cramp). ;-)
@Chrisisall Thank you Sir. I’d love to think I rock, but I so don’t! You were very gracious in changing your vote. And on that note, a new round of voting should commence now and I’m going to be the first to put your name forward.
Oh and finally, to those of you who didn’t pass on your appreciations to me, I bare you no ill will whatsoever....
Having said that when the revolution comes, I will be forced to destroy you all. B-)
And on that bombshell, have a Happy New Year everybody. Best wishes for 2014. <:-P
