I watched FYEO the other day as well and it remains one of my favorite Rogers.
Never fails to entertain me to the max. Pierce Brosnan is a true legend. Really love both soundtracks (can't imagine GE without Serra's work). GE has the more complex plot of the 2, with a stellar supporting cast and sudden bursts of badass action (the tank chase and Bond vs Trevelyan fight), but I also really enjoy TND's no nonsense/simple plot that gives way to an endless succession of thrilling action scenes where Brosnan owns everything. 2 of my favorite Q scenes are in these 2 outings. Great allies too - Jack Wade and Valentin. Natalya is probably my favorite Bond girl (with Vesper 2nd).
Again, I can't get enough of Brosnan as James Bond. This is one of my favorite double bills - non-stop gunfights, chases, explosions for 2x2 hours, with the Bond theme played every 5 minutes. The climax of TND may be a bit long, but damn do I enjoy Brosnan shooting everything with the Bond theme playing full blast. Q scene in TND is one of my favorites with Llewelyn, and Cleese in DAD is quite entertaining too (I like that Bond and Q are by themselves in this sequence). I adore both car chases (Arnold sounds like he really had fun scoring these sequences). Both PTS are awesome (the music cue when Bond is surfing towards the beach in DAD gets me in mood right away). Dench appears to have a lot of fun in TND.
Timothy Dalton is one proper badass in these 2 films. He sure as hell gives 0 damns about any bullsh*t that he comes across. He doesn't have an athletic body, but he really owns his action scenes (surfing behind the plane in LTK, the tanker chase and the cargo plane fight with Necros are just friggin awesome). I really enjoy the soundtracks from Barry and Kamen. Great plots and pacing too, both films really fly by. The 1st hour of TLD is fantastic, pure Bond, pure class. Really good supporting cast too - Kara is adorable, Sanchez one of my favorite villains. I must say I appreciate Robert Brown more and more each time I watch one of his 4 outings as M. And Q's extended role in LTK always brings a big smile on my face.

The more I see this film, the more I enjoy it and find it utterly addictive. Roger Moore, despite his advanced age, still looks quite good and gives another entertaining performance as he usually delivers. The action sequences may not be perfect, but they are quite thrilling (I really enjoy the PTS, the Paris chase, the very tense steeple chase and the iconic fight on the Golden Gate Bridge), thanks to a formidable soundtrack from John Barry. Another film with a colourful bunch of characters - Mcnee as Tibett, Grace Jones as Mayday and Walken as Zorin. The latter 2 form one of the most entertaining duos of villains in the entire franchise. The movie really moves a very fast pace, most likely due to Bond basically having to foil 2 plots in 1 film (the horse cheating and the oil rig investigation), so there is no time to waste. I am always amazed when I reach the half way point, as it goes by really quickly, and before you know it, you reach the climax in the mine.

Very well said. Nice to see some love for AVTAK. I also find it very addictive. Yes it is a flawed film if you look at it very precisely but you find different flaws in so many other Bond films, too, which are generally described as masterpieces. I personally like most of the film. The score is just amamzing, the locations are great and there is no silly globetrotting. The villains are very memorable and bizarre in a good way. Moore is certainly a bit too old but since he had never been a credible spy in all his films and always followed a more ironic and relaxed approach this has never really mattered to me. I also agree on the pacing. I think Glen did a good job. Whereas some earlier film - even though they were great - had some overlong and not very well edited action sequences without any music, AVTAK moves on much quicker and combines suspensefull, calm and action scenes very well. There is some bad humor in this film (California Girls in the PTS) and some bad one liners. Tanja Robert's scream time is way too long but apart from this I always enjoy watching the film.
First and foremost Barbra Bach is gorgous but beyond that the film has a lot more strengths then weaknesses
The locations are gorgous the action is fantastic and Moore is in top form. Bach is gorgous as previously stated and Q has a lot more to add which I like. I feel the villains are extremly weak though and feel it's s shame Blofeld wasn't the villain. The plot is also just ok in my opinion but better then the solar nonesense in the last film and done much better here then in Moonraker a film I am dreading seeing in two weeks time but in 4 weeks I get for your eyes only but don't want to look to far ahead as I get to see my favorite band in three weeks.

Watched it yesterday the 2006 UE DVD. I really should clamp down and get the blu ray.
This one has probably risen to 2nd place in my Moore rankings. I love every frame- even the Tarzan yell.
About mystery. The only thing about DN I don't like, beside the score, which don't have the Barry-magic we have in the following films, is the feeling I get with this film of being an action mystery more than a spy thriller. That's about the only thing that keep DN from being in my top three Connery-films. Still way ahead of DAF and YOLT.
Anyway, do you think we will ever have a Bond film which is released on a year ending in a zero?
I wanted something entertaining and lighthearted, but couldn't really figure out what to start with. Initially, I thought I'd start with one of Moore's, but I somehow ended up with Casino Royale (1967). It'd been ages since the last time CR67 even crossed my mind. I actually couldn't remember if my copy was a VHS or a DVD! (it turned out to be the latter).
And, oh my, what a mess this film is! Couldn't remember the plot from last time, but that's not surprising, really. There were a few laughs, but most of them came at the expense of the production itself. Afterwards I had to look up CR67 and read up on the production, and get an explanation on why so many scenes were cut short. The only highlight with this one, must be David Niven's performance, which, unlike the film itself, was solid.
Still in a lighthearted mood, I followed CR67 with Diamonds Are Forever. A bit of a guilty pleasure for me, this one. Every time DAF is on, you get reminded how a one-liner extravaganza it is (and Connery really delivers!). As for the plot, unlike CR67, we get one. But that's well hidden with Connery spending much of the film in cars, in a coffin, on a moon buggy and so on. You laugh a lot during the 120 minutes, which I'm fine with. This is an entertaining Bond film and Connery's having fun.
Haven't seen this in a long time and I think I may have been a little harsh on it.
I was surprised just how good Moore's performance is in this. He looks like he's taking things more seriously than in his latter films and has a steely determination throughout the film.
Some good action and stunning scenery, the film looks amazing on Bluray.
The only unwelcome intrusion is JW Pepper...!
I think I now prefer this to LALD
