There are no 4K masters of the Bond movies for the home media (yet).
But if you have a Blu-ray player that can upscale to 4K and a 4K TV set, you still get the 4K experience, even if it's "only" upscaling.

When Lowry did all the restorations they did 9 Bond films in 4k (they don't say which, I am guessing its the first 9. All the rest are at 2k so unless they go back and digitally rescan the rest at 4k, there wont be a 'true' 4k box set.

Skyfall was shot on Arria Digital at 4k and finished at 2.8k (according to IMDB), so it will be the only Bond film where a true 4k version wont be available. A shame, as its the best looking Bond film. An upscale should still look pretty good though.

Also, according to IMDB, Spectre's digital intermediate was finished at 4k, so that should look nice.

Just popped in Octopussy (1983). Rarely am I in the mood for this one, but I am right now. It has the potential to move up a spot or two in my ranking.

Those 4k images above look bloody fantastic!

And @bondjames, right on, NBNW and to catch a thief are magnificent films. Seeing those in 4k especially the former will truly be a feast for the eyes

    Re: last Bond movie watched...

    Dr.No.

One of my favourite parts of this film and the series as a whole are the scenes from when Bond and Honey meet sister Rose and Lilly through to the dinner scene. Pure magnificence and effortlessness. Dr.No is creepy and sinister, Honey looks damn gorgeous, especially after waking up from drinking the damn coffee and Bond is brilliantly quippy and antagonisingly cool. Seriously, SP had a great opportunity to recapture what was done here and they missed the boat completely.

Pretty solid watch of Octopussy. Having a hard time deciding whether or not it's above TMWTGG in my ranking.

OCTOPUSSY and THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN

Maud Adams Bond theme night. Enjoyed both immensely after a rough day. Bond along with the folks here at MI6 brought my spirits up.
OP remains in my top 10 a will probably be raised a notch or two.
TMWTGG is going up in ranking as well. How can you go wrong with Christopher Lee?

I am watching the films like that since this year and I can tell you it's a completely different experience.

I have made some photos with my iPad directly from the running film. It's not even close to reality but it gives you some impression of what it's like. I didn't pause the film when taking the pics so Grant is a bit blurry for instance.

I also must note, that in many instances the picture is that clear that you almost get a 3D effect!

    Die Another Day
My feelings towards DAD haven't changed. With the exception of the title track (techno music has no place in a Bond film), and Madonnas cameo, DAD is a perfectly watchable film up to Cuba, where it levels off, before sinking down. I won't lie, there are some bits of DAD that I genuinely do like:

    - The bullet in the gunbarrel
    - The PTS
    - The Hong Kong Yacht Club scene
    - The escalating sword fight
    - The "abandonned station for abandonned agents" scene
    - The scene where Bond meets Raoul in Cuba
    - How Bond dispatched Zao (even if it does involve the dreaded "Adaptive Camoflage"

    My 1996-2016 20th Anniversary Bondathon
    1. Spectre
    2. Die Another Day
    3. Casino Royale
    4. Skyfall
    5. Quantum Of Solace

If you add in "Bond and the firing squad" and "Bond catching the gun after it falls of the MRI machine", then you've got a set Major!

I do have one problem with the firing squad scene, and that is that Bond looks in remarkably good shape for someone who has been beaten and tortured for 14 months. But that is a small problem compared to what the film has in store...

I always find it unintentionally hilarious! With Brossa looking like an extra from Monty Python and the Life Of Brian!

Wasn't Brosnan out of shape for that scene due to some injury? I thought I read that somewhere recently. Apparently he had put on a lot of weight on account of some problem that actually shut down shooting for a while.

Brosnan injured his knee on the DMZ set, and prompted shooting to shut down for a number of weeks. I still think Brosnan was in top form at the time, and even more so in 2004/2005 when is fifth film was due.

Thanks. I'm not sure if it was on account of this, but apparently he went from being the lightest actor to play the part (an unbelievable, for his height, 164 Lbs in GE) to the heaviest (211 Lbs in DAD). I think I read him commenting that he couldn't get up to peak fitness due to that knee injury.

After watching GE then DAD over the weekend, the weight is significantly noticeable. Not as visible as Sean in DAF, but it is there.

    Just watched LTK and TLD.
Anyone notice the ending of LTK when Bond calls Felix and Felix is joking around and laughing with Bond even though his wife was just killed right after their wedding and he was mauled by a shark.... What the hell.

Tomorrow Never Dies - It's never been a favorite, but I've found myself enjoying it more and more the past few years. Brosnan is much more comfortable in the role the second time around and has gained a little weight since GE. He looks great.

All the highlights are found in the first half. The PTS, Pryce hamming it up, M and Roebuck's banter, Carver's party, stealing the encoder, Dr. Kaufman, etc... I was having a good time. Unfortunately, things take a turn for the worse once we arrive in Asia.

I still enjoy the Halo jump but the underwater sequence is dull. The motorcycle chase goes on for way too long and that whole sequence at Wai Lin's place is just daft. The stealth boat finale starts off strong, but it also goes on forever. Plus, Brosnan and Yeoh have no chemistry together.

Still, it has enough good points to keep it from being a cellar dweller in my rankings. One of those being a solid debut from David Arnold. Now it's on to TWINE and DAD. Oh boy.

I love every moment of the TND finale. Better ending than SF or QoS in my opinion.

I like the HALO jump too, but the final with Bond and Stamper is pretty bad. Mugging to the extreme, especially from the bloke playing Stamper.
