Well, they were filmed out of sequence and that is my major beef with Eon Productions for completely wrecking the continuity in Fleming's Blofeld Trilogy. The reason given for not filming OHMSS directly after TB was that it would have been a case of "TB on skis". I don't myself buy into this theory at all. It's just a lame excuse as OHMSS was of course much more than an action film - there was a human story at its heart and the eventual film version is a masterpiece and my favourite film of the series bar none.
I can't imagine how significant it would have become seeing Connery's Bond in such an emotional state. Connery and his Bond would have been a bigger movie icon notwithstanding his present stature.
