Those that say he IS Bond however, are just a little bit fixated. He, Dalton, and Craig are all very, very good Bonds.
He, Dalton, Craig, and Moore are all great Bonds, but he IS Bond. I'm allowed an opinion.
edit: Hell I love Brosnan. For what it's worth, I wasn't making the argument about "who is Bond" necessarily. I was just saying Goldfinger is an iconic film that has been chreished by Bond fans for decades but now Living Daylights is mopping the floor with it. Bond fandom has just changed. I love both films. Just making an observation.
Yeah, like Shatner IS Kirk to me, I get you. We're cool. B-)
Yeah! This is all I really meant to point out. I'm not swayed one way or another, it's just trends popping here or there. I agree TLD is one of the better films.

I think Sean "WAS" Bond in his first few films. After TB I find him distinctly average. Even...dare I say...poor at times in YOLT and DAF (especially the latter).
That said he has an undeniable star quality that I don't think Tim really had.

Definitely. He lost a little of that dangerous spark he had in films 1-4 starting with YOLT. There were flashes here and there but he wasn't the Connery of old. When I think of James Bond I think of Sean Connery in those first 4 films, however. Agreed about the star quality as well. When he's on screen all eyes are focused on him. Natural magnetism and charisma that, I believe, is still unmatched to this day.

10-7 for Thunderball. It's a couple spots higher than Live and Let Die on my rankings, and it's also a "less than the sum of its parts" type of film. Well, have at it, MI6-ers!

Title Track: LALD (best of the series)
Title Credits: TB
Main Villain: LALD ( I like Kananga, always thought Largo somewhat boring)
Main Bond Girl: LALD (Solitaire, yes please!)
Overall Plot: TB (Such a good plot it was recycled again!)
Dialogue: LALD (Come on, it has Sheriff JW Pepper haha)
Score: LALD (Wonderful score)
Settings: TB (Bond in the Bahamas is always home)
Action: LALD
Humor: LALD
Cinematography: LALD
Benign Bizarre: LALD (Could go either way, but exploding Kananga takes it)
Suspense: LALD (TB is very close here, but the backdrop in the ship ruins it)
Minor Characters: LALD (Some of the greatest in the series imo)
Glamour: TB
Ally: LALD (Hedison as Leiter, Quarrel Jr., Sheriff JW Pepper)
12-5 Live and Let Die
PTS: TB (I like seeing the Aston, the fight with Bouvar, and the jet pack actually flew!)
Title Track: LALD (love TB, but LALD was epic- and a departure from what came before)
Title Credits: LALD (fiery skulls and women with afros take the win)
Main Villain: TB (I love Kotto/Kananga, but Largo has more screen presence, and I enjoy his interactions with Bond- 'do you know anything about guns?' It's quite easy, this skeet-shooting.' 'Yes it is...')
Main Bond Girl: LALD (tough decision here- Domino is more stunning, but I feel Solitaire has a bit more substance)
Overall Plot: LALD (the usual bomb ransom plot vs. voodoo, and a drug baron with all black villains was risky, but gave us a unique Bond film)
Dialogue: TB (once again, Bond and Largo, Bond and Q, Bond and Domino... all great conversations here)
Score: LALD (the only soundtrack I've really listened to is LALD, but you can hear why it's one of the best)
Settings: LALD (tough decision, but San Monique was pretty much Nassau anyway, even though it looked more appealing in TB. NY is cool, and Kananga's cavern lair is one of my fave lairs)
Action: LALD (heaps of chases- car, bus, boat, plane etc.; the Tee Hee fight was cool)
Humor: LALD (it's Moore, so you get moore gags for your buck)
Cinematography: LALD (the chase scenes were shot well)
Benign Bizarre: LALD (Mr. Big lived up to his name, if only momentarily)
Suspense: TB (lots of suspense in the Junkanoo scene- will the dog pee, or won't he?)
Minor Characters: TB (Fiona, Pat Fearing, Derval, Lippe, Fiona... although, Tee Hee and Baron Samedi... but Fiona...)
Glamour: TB (Bond dances with Domino and Fiona, card game with Largo)
Ally: LALD (Leiter wins just for being genuine)
TB - 6
LALD - 11
That was a surprise. LALD trumps TB nearly two-fold. How does this make Baron Samedi feel?

Title Track: TB
Title Credits: TB
Main Villain: LALD (I'm a huge Yaphet Kotto fan)
Main Bond Girl: TB
Overall Plot: TB
Dialogue: TB (LALD is a blaxploitation film. That should about tell you all you need to know.)
Score: TB (Best score in the entire series. LALD never stood a chance.)
Settings: TB (Nassau. Enough said.)
Action: LALD (TB's tedious underwater stuff brings it down).
Humor: LALD (On a cringeworthiness level; I don't find TB very "funny" whereas I uncomfortably laugh at almost everything in LALD.)
Cinematography: LALD (I agree with @Soundofthesinners here. Good call, chap!)
Benign Bizarre: LALD (DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Anyone who chooses TB for this is wrong! Just bloody wrong! Voodoo prince! Exploding balloon Yaphet Kotto! Third nipple! Oh wait, wrong Moore film! But it's still a Moore film so this wins by default anyway!)
Suspense: LALD (-10 suspense for each underwater sequence in TB. I was laughing too hard to come up with my own comment so once again I'm just going to let @Soundofthesinners state my point for me.)
Minor Characters: TB
Glamour: TB
Ally: LALD (Felix vs. Felix. I'm going to give this one to Felix.)
10-7. Didn't expect it to be THAT close. I'm kinda sort of warming to LALD though? I mean it's a pretty abysmal film, it's aged worse than any other Bond film... and yet I can't bring myself to hate it? However, TB was my first Connery film (and outright one of my first Bond films period) and I've always had a soft spot for it.
