And on an unrelated note, thanks to some really helpful chap or chapette...
That saves me from having to see the entire film, just for 32 seconds. Can't wait for Retribution, though. The return of Jill (/Sienna). ^:)^
*there are some spoilers included*

Interesting that this is not only going to bypass the remake, it's prequel, as well as the sequels to the original film, and declare itself the original sequel.

Does anyone remember that little low budget brit horror from 2008? The one with the mercs, the nazi zombies and the underground outpost? I am of course, talking about Outpost, a film that I was (and still am) a fan of. Outpost 2 has been on the cards for a while, and it was looking like it was never going to start shooting. I'd even forgotten there was going to be a sequel until recently, I went to the Black Camel site, just in case there was news, and I found this:
After wrapping a successful shoot at the start of April, Black Camel Pictures is pleased to announce that Outpost: Black Sun is in post-production. The film stars Catherine Steadman (The Tudors, The Inbetweeners) and Richard Coyle (Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Going Postal) as Lena and Wallace as they battle to prevent the undead Nazi army marching across Europe. Heading over to their facebook page I found:
James Mollett: Is this going straight to dvd?
Outpost 2: Black Sun Hell no! - theatrical in the UK early 2012
I'm not sure if a sequel was/is needed, but one thing is certain, on the strength of the original, i'll be first in line come release day.

I think there's a few more I can add, if I can think of them.
Sir, I am very intrigued by the news on TTCM and very happy in fact by the news concerning Outpost 2! Thanks for sharing, Major.
As for the list of favourites, glad to see you put Dracula on the number one spot! Especially Bela's Dracula. However, I myself require Freddy Krueger and Michael Myers there. ;;)
Re: my list. I can't quite bring myself to put Freddy and Michael amongst my favourites. Though I do have a certain affection for Wes Cravens New Nightmare & Halloween: The Curse Of Michael Myers. Along with Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday, they are brave departures from the norm for their respective series
Some of those you can guess the film from the pic. :-))
And now for some random ramblings...
What have I to report? Well, I was disappoited with The Woman (even with the McKee/Bettis combo), and apparantly, Piranha 3DD (AKA the first horror film where Danielle Panabakers character will actually survive) will be released in January 2012. And here's a 30 second trailer:
"Bring me my legs"
That has to be up there with Neeson's speech in Taken, and Jackson's speech in Snakes On A Plane.
B-D.com have just released a potentially spoiler packed synopsis of the new Texas Chainsaw film:

Interesting idea with it. Rather than follow the remake, it's a direct sequel to the original 1974 film. :-?

They gave Jason X 5/5. Wait, what? Look, I don't mind Jason X, and it's cheese factor, but 5/5? :O
"The Gorgon" 1963
this movie gave me nightmares and I have refused to watch it ever again. (I was in the Army when I saw it on TV)
After reading about the new TCM, i've been wondering if a similar kind of film could be made for other horror series that have been rebooted/remade. Say for instance, a new Halloween film (#9), set in 2011. If i'm not mistaken, there is still one member of the Myers family, with whom Michael hasn't caught up with. Could that be done? I'm not a fan of Zombie's two film, so I wouldn't be against another sequel to the original series.
The same could not be done for F13, if the timeline was to be kept intact. As of 2011, Jason has been frozen in the Crytal Lake Research Facility for 3 years. However, I would like a film to bridge the gap between Jason Takes Manhattan and Jason Goes To Hell or Jason Goes To Hell and Jason X. I think the latter would stand a better chance of happening, as both films are in hous (New Line). I have left out FvJ on purpose, as I find that doesn't quite sit right in the F13 timeline.
The asian films seem to get it right, hence all the remakes of Asian films.
Don't need blood and gory death to be scary or gross outs.
Just simple dark shadows, creepy music and something that jumps out once in a while.
I recommend that new TV series on FX :AMERICAN HORROR STORY
This part was my favourite:
Oh come on, they have to give us another one. BEYOND wasn't bad as such, it just wasn't as good as RE-ANIMATOR or BRIDE. And with Jeff Combs, or not at all.
Ghost House and Mandate Pictures are going BIG with their casting for their forthcoming remake of Sam Raimi's Evil Dead, which begins lensing this March in New Zealand.
Bloody Disgusting has learned exclusively that Lily Collins (The Blind Side, Priest, Mirror Mirror) is in final negotiations to play "Mia" in FilmDistrict's reboot aiming for release on April 12, 2013.
*Update* Mia is the LEAD, and is the female version of Ashley J. Williams (Ash), once donned by Bruce Campbell in the original trilogy. To reveal more would ruin the movie.
In this version, the story centers on five friends (David, Natalie, Eric, Olivia, and Mia) holed up at a remote cabin where they discover a Book of the Dead with a demonic force unleashed possessing each until only one is left to fight for survival. As we also exclusively reported, there is a drug subplot.
As previously explained, David is a mechanic and is engaged to Natalie. Mia is the friend who is heading to the cabin to detox; Olivia is her best friend/nurse. Eric, presumably, is the kid who unleashes the demons.
After a recent overdose, Mia struggles with her new-found sobriety. She begins acting insane, so it comes as no surprise that nobody believes her crazy claims of coyote dogs and trees attacking her!
Fede Alvarez directs the redo of Sam Raimi's cult classic 1981 The Evil Dead from his own screenplay co-written with Rodo Sayagues. Revisions were done by Oscar-winning writer Diablo Cody.
