I've read the book and I've seen the Universal film several times. Bu I also have confidence in Blumhouse. So I guess we'll have to see. ;-)
The first trailer for Blumhouse's reimagining of Fantasy Island is also arriving in the coming days.
Fantasy Island is releasing February 14th, 2020 (same day as The King's Man) and The Invisible Man is releasing February 28th, 2020.
The new Wrong Turn installment has also finished filming:

A new Scream installment is now in the works:

Just marathoned the Scream films, which I mostly love. Hate to hear that Williamson isn’t writing the next Scream. We all know how well that turned out the last time (*coughs* Scream 3). I get the feeling it will probably be a reboot, which would be a pity because the original lineup is far too good to be topped.
Certainly coming at this from an interesting angle.
I did like the director's last film, Upgrade so hopefully this could be worth a look.
Seems to be the Blade Runner 2049 of this year. Very well-made sequel that exceeds expectations (getting praise from critics and movie goers) but underperforms at the box office.
That's not good.
My thoughts about everything concerning the film. Looked like a disaster from the start.
I must say though overall 2019 was a very strong year for horror. Us, Pet Sematary, Doctor Sleep, Midsommar, The Lighthouse, and It Chapter Two were all super enjoyable for me.
It already looked like a trainwreck I would happily avoid but this confirms I won't be watching it ever.

Just leave it be. The series wants to die, let it die. I'd accept a sequel to 1 and 3, but otherwise, stick a fork in it, it's done.
