Chronology of Your Favourite/Least Favourite Bond Film

This is a fun little idea I've had for a couple months.

As you go through the Bond films from DN to SF, in order, how often does your favourite film in the series change? When do you hit your #1? More simply, which Bond films do you consider to have been the best in the series at the time of their release?

If you're confused, how this works is you start with Dr. No. Continue along the series until you hit a film that you consider better than DN. Let's say that film is TB. Once again continue. Let's pretend you don't hit a film that you consider better than TB until 2006's Casino Royale. And then let's say Casino Royale is your favourite Bond film. Your list would look like this:

Dr. No
Thunderball
Casino Royale

Every list will have Dr. No. It's the first, and only Bond film at the time of its' release, so therefore it was the best in the series in 1962. If DN is your favourite Bond film, then your list will ONLY have Dr. No.

Here's my list:

Dr. No (1st/1 in 1962; 10th on my final overall list)
From Russia with Love (1st/2 in 1963; 7th on my final overall list)
On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1st/6 in 1969; 3rd on my final overall list)
The Living Daylights (1st/15 in 1987; 2nd on my overall list)
Casino Royale (1st/21 in 2006; 1st on my final overall list)

Conversely, the same, except for what I would consider to have been the WORST Bond films in the series at the time of their release:

Dr. No (1st/1 in 1962; 10th on my final overall list)
Goldfinger (3rd/3 in 1964; 16th on my final overall list)
Diamonds are Forever (7th/7 in 1971; 22nd on my final overall list)
Die Another Day (20th/20 in 2002; 23rd on my final overall list)

    is that correct ? Hit a dead end with the second being my favorite release. List looks a little incomplete or bare, but think I understood the rule of game. A little tired now in my defense..

    This is different. It's taking the films of the series and simply seeing which ones you would've called the best in the series at the time of their release, according to your personal ranking.

    I also see I neglected TLD in my list, I will fix that.

    sure does..i will be amazed if someone got all the way to SF ..(unless SF is their favourite film).

    I can see one of the youngest going the furthest,they tend to leave the FRWL and GF films to us old farts ! ;)

    I'd imagine we'll get a list that goes something like DN - FRWL - OHMSS - TLD - LTK - CR - SF which isn't a bad chain.

    Keep in mind that I rank the films in order of enjoyment rather than trying to be objective (otherwise I guess FRWL or CR or something would probably be top). Anyway, best

    Yeah I've never been as big a fan of DN as a lot of fans. It's not a bad film by any means, I just don't get the same level of enjoyment from watching it that I do the other Connery films (bar DAF).

    Well the worst list is considerably more interesting to do than the rather predictable best one!

    Have to say I'm worried some people dont understand the rules as there are numerous posts that dont have DAD last on the worst list.
