Maybe, but I'm still sceptical. Even if EON come out in two hours and confirm everything this article has said word-for-word, I won't actually believe what the article says until EON make their move.

plus I can visualize the pakour scene in Mumbai and if looks as cool as it does in my imagination we will all be in for a treat :D
Whoa, whoa, whoa! Who said anything about parkour!?
Actually this "explosive chase scene set in South Mumbai" is the first revealed plot detail of Bond 23 if I am correct. I have been thinking, what other action scenes will Bond 23 feature?
It's not the first plot detail. This could easily be a fabrication. After all, EON are notoriously tight-lipped when it comes to plot details. We don't learn anything until they decide it's time for us to do so. Since this didn't come from EON, we have no reason to believe a word of it.

""In the ND Studio, South Mumbai setting of the main road with shops, bylanes and the main traffic signal will be expanded to include the historic Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and Crawford Market, too," revealed our source, reiterating that a chase sequence full with cars, etc. blowing up will serve for a apt opening for the film, similar to Craig's parkour-style action sequence in Casino Royal (2006)."

this is where i got the parkour idea.

Another parkour chase? Terrible, terrible idea. Better not have a foot chase if B23 will be the 3rd consecutive film with a parkour chase at the start.

I bet you're looking for an OP style street chase, i.e.: rupee notes tossed out to the poor, tennis gags, etc, right DC?

With so many action scenes in the Craig films, adding a bit of humour in the chases would be a good start. Part of the greatness of 1962-1989 action scenes were the epic music, and hilarious gags in it. Craig would be out of place in a OP-style chase... But can we have atleast SOME gags in it, instead of cold, brutal, fight/chase scenes? Even the brutal fights in TB had gags and epic, wild music from Barry. An action scene with 1) No Bond theme or gags in it, simply isn't Bond it it. This is why I hate all the action scenes in Craig's films with a passion. Where has the Bond spirit gone ??

All the action scenes in Bond are very Bourne-ified, as I do not know if I am watching Bond or Bourne or a Statham film. Yes, Craig is fit, but he is just a mindless action star with mindless action scenes. The fight/chase scenes of the Craig era are catastrophicly bad, and Un-Bondian. Even LTK had gags in them.

The action scenes of the last 2 films are as Un-Bond-like as they can possibly be. I haven't seen a Bond film released since 2002.

I don't watch Bond for mindless action scenes that are unrecognizable from other action movies... So more Bond theme, and more gags please. That's what set Bond apart from the rest.

It does say "similar to Craig's parkour-style action sequence". I doubt very much we're getting another parkour chase, just another variation of a foot chase.

First of all, it says "similar to". EON is not going to use the same action sequence twice.

Secondly, although it's a quote, it doesn't name the source - so I'm still sceptical.

And I like your skepticism it's a healthy dose of salt in the forum :D

So, could it be Bond in Mumbai? I certainly wouldn't say no; from what I know and have seen of it on screen, it's a colourful, vibrant, fascinating city.

Also, it wouldn't be a surprising choice for Eon to capitalise on Mumbai's recognition-factor and popularity with Western audiences thanks to double whammy of the explosion of Bollywood in the West in recent years and, of course, the cinematic success that was Slumdog Millionaire. They're canny peeps at Eon, that's for sure. ;)

    Interesting stuff... :)

They'll still go to locations that the story calls for first.

Has this been posted yet? Sorry if it has, can't keep up. Also on S Africa thread.

According to The Budapest Report, nearly half the film is going to be shot in South Africa. Notes the story, which reportedly came from a source close to the filming: "Other parts of the filming are planned for Serbia and Dubai, where the secret agent will also be averting terrorist plots.... Bond will be shooting in the famous ocean front, the neglected townships and luxury vineyards in Stellenbosch and Franschhoek while a climatic scene will be shot on the top of Table Mountain."

@danslittlefinger - see other thread, the article on Comic Book Mive and Budapest Report is speculation based on Carte Blanche. They incorrectly think the book is Bond 23 ~:>

Good thing, too - because CARTE BLANCHE isn't film material.

Yes saw that, never read book so no idea what the plot is.
Sorry to all for the irrelevant post then.

CARTE BLANCHE has potential. The opening scenes in particular would look great on the big screen. But just about everything else would need to be worked over.

Anyway, this is the thread about India as a location. And I've found something very recent about a discovery in the country that could be worked into the film, though it's probably too late:

This is good news. It will be interesting to see how the African locations fit in with Bond's mission.

What are the chances of something this recent being included in the finished film in some form? I'd love to see EON being ahead of themselves and this plot point could add a lot too a film.

A good find @shadowonthesun. Thanks for posting.
