Not sure this has been addressed before but the emoticons have changed.

If you visit old posts all the LOL emoticons have converted into simple smileys ": ) )" this doesn't work anymore and will show as :))

A shame I think, it changes the old posts and the LOL was used very often.

Yes, the upgrade seems to have made them all the same now so sadly the nuances of their use has been lost. Not sure what, if anything, can be done about it?

I noticed that some features on your personal page have been upgraded, but SPECTRE is still not allowed as a favourite film.

If that was intentional, I commend the site owners. Poor taste should be discouraged.

It is a shame, because nuance is lost in text and the emoticons are sometimes the only way to show people you're just being an ass in a tongue and cheek way, and not a full-on ass.

I've always thought that @Dragonpol was a glam rock diva personally...

    I draw the line at Gary Glitter though! =;

I was thinking more of a Marc Bolan/Wizard/Slade vibe. How about "Lord Dragonpol and the Magical Snap Dragons" - part glam rock, part psychedelic rock, all funk to the excess?

I'd be up for that! :)

Good to see that you can go back one page on whatever thread you are visiting now. Before you were stuck on last page unless you clicked on the previous page number.

The extended suite of smilies are powered by a third-party tool. We will need to see if they can be brought up to standard/spec with the latest board software.

@Thunderfinger - SPECTRE coming right up as a choice, for better or for worse.

Can we post stills from the films if they are links? How do we get them embedded in a post (i.e. we see the picture and not a clickable link)? Thnx.

You can, yes. Just copy and paste the link. Simple as that. No danger of seeimg the actual picture on this site that way but via a link to another site.

Okay but I've noticed people posting embedded photos and YT videos before. I guess since they're not official we get to post them like that, but how? If I post a URL in this [img][/img] will it embed it?

Yes, or use the markup icon above the message tech box you're typing in for the img code. That displays an image.

For a video, simply posting the link in the message text is recognized and turned into an embedded video. Took me some time to realize that.

Yes and please note it only applies to Bond, not other films.

^ What a victory for us conservatives!

Seriously, I hadn't noticed that they weren't there. I could live without them I suppose, though they do aid a little in helping other members understand your posts. :)

Agreed. It loads the link, but there's no option for it on the home page, which is something our hosts should make available on Mobile Version too.

I was on desktop when I posted that link, but I don't think you can access it on mobile.

No, it doesn't. Just the activity page of individual members is accessible on the mobile version of the site it seems.

What's strange is that clicking that link on mobile opens what is clearly a mobile version of the Activity page. That definitely isn't the full desktop site. So why is there a mobile optimized version of that page, with no easy way to access it on mobile?

    It works on my iPhone.
But checking it out I realise the activity tool is totally dominated by @Thunderfinger !!
