"A cruel mistress... here in..."
I want to say Grant in FRWL but I'm not sure I'd class that as a monologue.
While by no means the best Elliot Carver's "hold the presses" speech always amuses me
Good pic. I love it when he gets cut off, and he vents his anger at the presenter "you're fired! Get out of my sight!".
I was thinking of his first scene because its so OTT but I do like his speech at the party too.
Ah, I see. I like that one too, but maybe it's because I really like Carver as a villain...
Same with the hotel scene in QOS... "When you can't tell your friends from your enemies, it's time to go."
EDIT: I meant train.
I love that scene, always look forward to it,Dan and Eva bounce off each other really well.
Surely it's a train? Doesn't it cut from an exterior shot to the restaurant car?
Quite so.
You don't like me, Bond. You don't like my methods. You think I'm an accountant, a bean counter more interested in my numbers than your instincts.
...
Good, because I think you're a sexist, misogynist dinosaur. A relic of the Cold War, whose boyish charms, though wasted on me, obviously appealed to that young woman I sent out to evaluate you.
...
If you think I don't have the balls to send a man out to die, your instincts are dead wrong. I've no compunction about sending you to your death. But I won't do it on a whim. Even with your cavalier attitude towards life. I want you to find GoldenEye, find out who took it, what they plan to do with it, and stop it. And if you should come across Ourumov, guilty or not, I don't want you running off on some vendetta. Avenging Alec Trevelyan will not bring him back.
Broz isn't bad in it either.
It was, I'm sorry. Final Destination was on TV, so my mind was other places. Haha.
That's one of the film's highlights for me.
Totally agree with you. All the people I've been talking to thinks it's awful... If it was'nt for that part, the film would barely be watchable...
Why do they think its awful?
Well, the guy I talked too said it "dragged" and "slowed down the movie"....
Here's how I experience the PTS:
Water.face.car.something.wheel.something.nose.car.something.police.gun.wheel.Bond.something.Sienna.
So yes, that final scene was necessary to convince me that I wasn't going berserk. :-)
