    At least it didn't have the classic Hans Zimmer Bwaaaaah sound in the trailer. ;)

    I know. Sorry if I wasn't clear. I was just talking about the teaser since you did as well. :)

    There may be other directors, or actors, maybe... or indeed franchises or whatever - Bond at least, I presume... where you'd want to see the movies regardless of teasers or trailers. Ultimately those are just ads made to get people spend money on them, so therefore they can never be "trusted" - but the people (or the franchise) involved can be (different people or franchises for different audience members, of course). Not in the sense that everything anybody is involved in (or every movie in a franchise) will be something that one necessarily likes... but it can be something that one will want to see just because that "trust" (built in interest) is there... and that's what gets us to check those movies out. In those cases the ads have no actual effect.

    I don't know how big of an effect trailers in general have on people's decisions to watch movies. For me not much, since I follow what's coming up or in the works so much that I rarely need a trailer to inform me - most people aren't active movie fans, so the situation is obviously different. I often decide what I wanna see before there even is a trailer to be seen. I've gone to see many movies without seeing any trailers for them. When I watch movies at home I don't check out the trailers or descriptions beforehand. I also try to be careful with trailers because they so often reveal far too much. There have been many cases where I've been mad at a trailer showing too much. And many cases where I've watched the trailer afterwards, and been grateful I hadn't seen it before watching the movie. Yet I'm also too curious to completely avoid trailers beforehand and they are an art form in themselves. It's a tricky balance. I very rarely use them to decide what movies I actually want to see, though.

    :)) I think I read that Zimmer has retired, shame I do like some of his work.

    I'll take Zimmer any day over some of the other composers out there these days, and over anyone who's worked on Bond in the last 20 yrs. I don't know who's doing the soundtrack for Dunkirk but I hope it's Zimmer.

    Certainly from my perspective, in Nolan I still trust.

    Zimmer of today doesn't do anything for me. as Bad as Newman. 80's Zimmer, On the top of his game. At least the Super Hero genre will get some new blood musically.

    M. Night Shyamalan's Split looks interesting. I had a funny experience in the theatre earlier, where they showed the trailer. During the moment when the caption reads 'From the writers of (all of Shyamalan's films),' someone's response was "crap."

    Damn, that looks terrific. I figured it'd look fantastic or terrible, glad it's the former. Can't wait to see it.

    Jonathan Banks (Mike of 'Breaking Bad') and Sam Neill will also be joining 'The Commuter', the latest Liam Neeson action film, with Vera Farmiga already onboard the project.

    The Tom Cruise movie formely known as Mena will be called American Made and the release date is moved from early January 2017 to late September 2017.

    @DaltonCraig007, The Commuter is shaping up nicely. I've been a huge fan of Jonathan Banks since Beverly Hillls Cop. He's an intense and very charismatic actor. Vera Farmiga and Sam Neill means I'm in no matter who else is in it, and I can't wait to see the first trailer.

    @DaltonCraig007, Arrival is a new genre for Villeneuve. I have to say I'm not too keen on Adams or Renner as leads, but I have faith in the director, and I'm sure Jóhann Jóhannsson is going to deliver another killer score.

    It's good to see Alice back for one last go-around. From the trailer, it looks like they will be tying it back nicely to the first Resident Evil.

    I agree, Caan is always mesmerizing as a bad guy. I'll definitely be checking out The Good Neighbor

    The Resident Evil films are a guilty pleasure for me, they are not great though I have 1 - 5 on DVD ill definitely watch the so called Final Chapter

    That's exactly how I feel about them. They've gradually been growing more and more ridiculous (and at the same time have been feeling more and more like chapters or installments as opposed to their own individual films), but they're still a lot of fun. Can't say the trailer for RE:TFC did a whole lot for me and I'm kinda bummed Jill Valentine and Ada Wong aren't coming back (since Retribution made it seem like they would be), but I'll check it out on DVD for sure.

    I have not checked cast list I was hoping some of the recurring characters would return, the first three films were ok, part 4 is watchable though part 5 they hit a creative wall. Though with new film due will give me a excuse to re watch them, I am tempted to buy them on BD. :)

    I'm fairly certain Jill Valentine is returning. Yes, that trailer seemed pretty ridiculous and OTT, and I don't care for the CGI overload, but I've seen all of these, so it won't feel right not checking out the last one.
