According to someone who has seen the trailer for 'John Wick 2', the body count in said trailer is 'almost bigger than the body count of the entire 1st film'.

Is that considered a good thing? Even less plot, or other meaningful content, but more bodies? I thought the first one was pretty entertaining despite its hollowness, but that doesn't sound very promising to me...

Why would anyone watch John Wick, Crank, Expendables, Taken or Rambo for their plot? These type of films aim at solely two things - having the most badass lead star and having the biggest body count possible. I don't understand why these films are mocked or reduced to their extremely simplistic plots. These are non-stop action films, and there is a sizeable market for them. If you don't like movies with no plot and sky high body count, just don't watch them.

John Wick is not known for its dialogue, that's for sure. I can't remember many of the lines in the film, but I sure recall the action.

Michelle Pfeiffer, Judi Dench, Daisy Ridley, Johnny Depp and Michael Pena join Kenneth Branagh's Murder on the Orient Express (2017).

This is going to be good....I hope. The original 1974 film is exceptional, and will be very difficult to beat. Legendary cast in it and I must watch it again soon.

You clearly didn't understand my comment. I said I enjoyed the first one. I know what type of film it is. I was asking if higher body count is considered a good thing (by big action movie fans like yourself for instance). In itself, you know. That hardly improves the movie, does it? Just piling up bodies. Just like more big expIosions won't improve a movie, at least not for me. Maybe it does for you. I was asking how others view that. I repeat I liked the first one, and I've always liked Keanu Reeves, and I wasn't in any way mocking the movie or the genre, you're being over-sensitive. I watch and enjoy very, very wide variety of movies, including action. "Just don't watch"??? Geez.

    Dialogue? Eh? Indeed...

MMFR probably isn't known for its dialogue, either, and that one I loved.

In the past five years at least, I actually can't think of many more quotable movies with so little dialogue than Mad Max: Fury Road. Miller's apocalyptic Aussie-speak is electric, and ever since I watched it I've been awaiting the proper chance to use, "Witness me!"

    Thank Valhalla I'm patient.

A few quotable lines, sure. I wouldn't really call that dialogue (as in people talking to each other and discussing stuff). But yeah, I guess that's debatable, and either way, what a fab movie. :)

I wasn't aware of this film. It looks interesting. Asa Butterfield's star power is rising and glad to see Gary Oldman in this too.

I love that it makes sense for the story though. It's fascinating to me that Max has exiled himself from humanity for so long that he's gone total feral, hasn't spoken out loud in years and has even forgotten the sound of his own voice and has to learn to communicate properly all over again. Max is one of my favorite characters, and to see the film explore that idea for the first time was magnificent.

Apparently the next film is a Furiosa prequel, which I'm not that excited about, really. I'd much rather see them continue to develop this Max in the modern age, especially since they've released comics that fill in the blanks of Furiosa's back story.

I'm sure it's brilliant, but I'm going to avoid it so as to get maximum enjoyment in the theatre. The Cruise will deliver. I'm sure of it.

@0BradyM0Bondfanatic7, no need to worry, that 'Furiosa prequel' is nothing but a rumor at this point. I'm sure the next one will be another full-fledged Max sequel.

It's hard to tell, @Creasy47. I've heard conflicting reports for so long, I don't know what to think. When Fury Road came out and Miller was reacting to the response to Furiosa, he said she was a great character and it'd be interesting to show her story, and I think after that people took that comment and ran with it, claiming she would get her own movie next.

All we can do is wait for word from the man himself.

I believe Miller himself has stated it's a rumor started on the Internet. Plus, the entire series thus far has followed Max going from location to location, with no recurring characters. To drop Max after a new planned trilogy, only to focus on Furiosa would be an odd move.

Yes, I know, it makes perfect sense. Yet I've seen complaints about Max not talking much or not being in the movie enough and whatnot. Strangely people don't pay attention to story, character and circumstances.

I've seen the rumours, too, but I hope and expect the next movie to continue with Max - that would make sense.

Some really aren't keen on actually looking at a story and character, or motivation, you are right @Tuulia. Max may not say much, but he is very much a presence in every moment, and quite an electric character thanks to Tom Hardy's performance.

He has always been that classic silent but deadly savior character from the start with Mel's fantastic work in the role, and it's part of what makes Max so fascinating. Both Gibson and Hardy are such great performers they don't need works to convey what they are feeling. You just know, immediately.

I'm glad audiences and critics seem to have enjoyed Fury Road for the fun, balls-to-the-wall film it is, but I also feel that many missed a lot of what made the film another grand addition to the series and the lore beyond the visuals, including Max's development back into humanity, Immortan Joe and his rule being a microcosm of worldwide poverty, and of course the wars over natural resources that shaped the Wasteland that could very well paint a picture of our own future. Sure the film looks fantastic and the stunts are great, I just think so much is missed by people.

I don't know why I'm saying this to you though, as I know you appreciate the film for these greater reasons. I was just venting some frustrations I had about it, and don't want to make it seem like I'm speaking at anybody here, that's all.

@DaltonCraig007, looking forward to it. I hope we get a glimpse of that prison fight with The Rock, and maybe a hint of the story. I think something will make the team join with Statham's Shaw from the last film to face a common enemy. Could be interesting.

And I really look forward to seeing the west coast Toretto team heading to the east coast to tear up New York. Expect many jokes from Tyrese and Ludacris about how they're Tupac boys, but love Biggie too.

Yeah, that's what I hear many describe it as, @Tuulia. That and, "It's just a two hour car chase," which is the same statement with different words basically. Ah well...

    Well, there's a sequel in post-production.

I bring this up because 2 of the main stars in the new film are:

    and

With Iko Uwais also being the action choreographer.
