It'll be full of poop jokes and people getting hurt in cheesy ways, I'm sure. Willy has it, that's the main reason why Nielsen was so excellent at it. It was just full of so many comedic moments, especially the bits you'd miss if you weren't watching or paying attention, like when Frank and Jane walk out of the theater, laughing really hard, and it pans up and they saw 'Platoon.' It's stuff like that that the remake will lack.

That's actually my favourite scene in the entire movie along with "Nice beaver!" :-)

Or when it shows them doing all of that fun stuff in the montage, and then it cuts to him saying "I can't believe I just met you yesterday." or something. It's rich. And then in the sequel, when he offers him the cigar.

    "Cuban?"
    "No, Dutch-Irish."

It's those little moments added up into extreme hilarity that this film will sorely miss out on. I hope it's not some R-rated f-word fest in hopes of making it "crude and hilarious."

EDIT: Here's the first teaser poster for 'Sin City: A Dame To Kill For':

Really...REALLY? Leslie's picture on that article sums up how I feel on the matter. Damn they must really be scraping the bottom of the barrel for remakes now. ~X(

I'm pretty sure there are close to 20 remakes that have been announced in the last two or three weeks. It's very pathetic. Before you know it, there won't be any new or original films, merely a film that was once great getting remade every ten - thirty years.

At this point. I just want Hollywood to crash and burn. They are just a stinky cesspool of mediocrity.

Interesting. I wonder if the film is a murder/crime thriller? Either way, if Eva's in it, I'll check it out if I can.

All I know is she looks absolutely stunning in that header image. If I wasn't watching a hockey game right now, I'd check it out. I'll see the trailer by the end of the night. Her combined with Shailene Woodley, it should be something great. The latter is highly talented and I'm glad to see her getting to shine now after the abysmal 'The Secret Life Of The American Teenager.'

I can't wait to see Eva in the Sin City flick. She is the very exemplification of a "femme fatale" for this cinematic age.

Eva's beauty and personality are going to blend so well in the 'Sin City' universe. There's not a doubt in my mind that she'll do fantastic in the movie, and on top of that, I've been anticipating a sequel for years.

The first Sin City is one of my absolute favourite films of the 2000s, so it's good to hear any news on the second film. It certainly restored my good mood after that dreadful Naked Gun remake news... Yeesh! ;)

It's actually done filming and should be out in August 2014. I can't wait! It's got one excellent cast.

Including Gaga, whose name isn't on that poster. It seems she just has a very minor role.

Funny you say that, because here's a treat for you:

  • That looks pretty cool, I really liked Matthew in Contact which has a similar theme. Cant wait to see this one too.

It's definitely a teaser, but at over two minutes long, I was hoping to see a little more footage or get a better idea of the plot, aside from the one we've already been given.

I just read on the paper they are gonna do a remake of Naked Gun. This is so bad, worse than the Terminator reboot. Sad, sad day.

My thoughts exactly. It's going to be horrendous on all levels. They're going to completely miss the mark on what made the Nielsen films so hilarious.

It's 50/50 that this remake will be good. But there's only a 10% chance of that. ;-)

What also made Leslie so great was that he went from drama to comedy and that played in so well with his reactions and faces. Ed Helms never wows me, so from the get-go, a remake of a film that doesn't warrant one and an actor that is nowhere near as funny as Nielsen gives me no interest in this remake.

Yes, it will go the same way as the Get Smart film.

Now THAT is a trailer! I don't know the plot, and it properly teased me and got me invested in it without spoiling all the plot twists. Oh Nolan, I can always count on you, even as the cinematic fabric on which you spin your tales rips itself to shreds.

Anne Hathaway and Michael Caine are in this, Hans Zimmer is scoring it and Chris and his brother are writing the script. I'm so in.

    Because we need another 're-boot':

    http://www.empireonline.com/news/story.asp?NID=39635

Two words for this: EPIC FAIL.

This is one of the stupidiest ideas in the long sad history of stupid ideas.
Well done Hollywood, you really have hit rock bottom.
