I have no idea if you're right, but I like your idea @battleshipgreygt. As for the backstory of Safin I think you might actually be spot on.
Hi @ertert, this trailer still has my head spinning. During the Norway sequence Safin's face is quite scarred, more so than when he confronts Bond presumably later in the film... Has he been poisoned? Was it White who poisoned him? Does White have an antidote? Does this antidote temporarily save him? Does it lead to something more?...
Right now I'm loving the mystery.
This film feels dense and epic, and I am, quite honestly, lost in where it will lead us.
My guess is that
So we have Bond being hunted by Spectre, Madeliene under threat from Safin’s people, and the events of Spectre and No Time to Die, setting those two threads on a collision course. Perhaps Silva/M may be a better comparison than Bond/Blofeld.
I'm interested to see how it plays out but I'm nervous that it could be too Sci-Fi for Craig's Bond
I'm sorry to drag this carcass of a debate back but the trailer - although cool - is tainted by Craig's casting. My brutal honest opinion. The pain of his casting still hurts so I don't care if anyone is offended by my comment. I've had the pain too, y'know. 15 years of it. Anyway, trailer looks good. I just can't lie and say "amazing trailer, Craig is awesome" when I've never thought he was. The photography looks great.
I wasn't convinced back then, you can look like someone with all the bells and whistles and still come across like a tribute act.
This.
All this talk of cloning so far is just that. Talk. Based on rumours based on talk. As for genetic warfare, it can be many different things and not scifi at all.
Imagine if Malek is actually Dr. No...
It turns out he is Dr. No, he somehow escapes and we all think he is dead or whatever
Bond is 007 again.
There's some explanation and Bond has to go to a casino or whatever.
Last shot:
Dark-haired woman is therere as sort of a dealer.
The camera goes behind a man in a tuxedo who is playing on the table.
The woman says
"I admire your luck Mister.."
-Bond. James Bond.
We don't see the face of Bond, we just hear it, and that's how it ends.
Full circle with Dr. No.
I am not saying this will happen but I believe there's at least 1% possibility of this happening.
What would you think?
And what would you think if Dr. No is actually Malek?
We don’t know yet. None of us have seen the film.
Craig said in an earlier interview that they go to Matera twice in this film.
I'm really interested to see how Madeline and Safin are linked. Could he have saved her life? Have they got a child together? (hopefully not)
I've only seen it 3 times, one thing I keep thinking is about how Madeline comes back into the story after Jamaica. Does she work for MI6? Has she been recruited by Nomi?
I keep thinking this too. However, why does Mr White work for Blofeld all those years later?
I get the vibe that the story Madeline tells on the train about shooting the intruder definitely relates to safin.
Ok, I thought I was the only who was thinking along the same lines! You did make a good point, though, because if our theory’s right...why would White continue working for SPECTRE after that? This plot is driving me crazy!
Nah, thanks, leave that kind of fanwankery to SW movies.
Apparently the other intruder was killed. I know what you mean both Madeline and Blofeld tell the same type of story except Madeline claims not to remember Blofelds visit or account of it.
I’m starting to doubt again that it’s a young Madeline in a flashback. Mr white and mrs white are nowhere to be seen. Surely mr white would try to retrieve his daughter off the ice and shoot safin.
Here’s what I think,
Madeline knows and is the first to call Spectre what it is in Austria. She knows what the organization is called before bond and Q. She would know the whole Spectre gang including safin.
I think safin is at the cabin to retrieve his child he had with Madeline, either willingly or by some genetic experiment, and successfully does so. This is a pretty big secret she has a child. What other secret could there be? Safin came to the house once with Blofeld to chat with mr white? Can’t be that simple.
Safin uses the child to get Madeline to betray bond. Safin keeps the child for the next five years , in that time Madeline desperately searches for her daughter and assists mi6 when the kidnapped scientist connected to safin brings bond back into the fold.
This also explains why madeline is in Norway at the end.
If I had to guess bond and swann just become a family with the child. No marriage just together at the end.
Woah, that's heavy stuff, but would make a lot of sense. The secret, being Madeleine had a child whom Bond knew nothing about. If that's the case, though, I'm still kind of weary of there being a kid involved in this plot...
However, I am beginning to think there are remnants of both SPECTRE *and* Safin's organization (I'm imagining Blofeld and Safin are rivals) that are after both Bond and Madeleine, with both camps vying to tie up loose ends by killing them both for their own reasons.
That's true. It almost makes me want to rewatch all of Craig's Bond films to see where NTTD's plot fits in all this.
Certainly possible.
