I’m not crazy about the casting of this role, but was hoping that I would like her in the role; the trailer does not leave me optimistic. She appears to be everything that’s wrong when trying to depict a strong woman functioning in a traditionally male dominated world. It’s extremely heavy handed and grating.
Rebecca Ferguson in the MI films Is a perfect example of how do do it right; never does her character try to diminish or intimidate Hunt . She doesn’t posture to prove to the audience what a badass she is.
Men not wanting to see strong women in moves is highly exaggerated; we just want to see it done well.

You know, I was wondering why she is so antagonistic towards Bond. I havn't been scrutinising the trailer and/or productuon of the film, so I might have missed some vital information somone might have dug up.
Maybe he was photographed applauding Harvey Weinstein at an awards ceremony.
My guess is that since the events of Spectre, Bond's almost become a myth or something within MI6. Where people talk about this unknown legendary agent who retired and disappeared. It could explain the security guard's reaction in the trailer.
If Nomi is indeed the new Agent 007, she feels as though she's been unfavorably compared to him because of he's such an infamous agent and wants to prove she's as worthy as anyone to be 007. Because of that, she feels resentful towards Bond, even though he didn't really do anything to make her feel this way and when Felix Leiter goes to Jamaica to ask Bond's help to locate a kidnapped scientist, she feels that she's been overlooked again.
This would actually be pretty cool.
That makes sense. I like that theory.
My first reaction to her scenes were mixed. Honestly I felt that the dialogue and interaction was edited into the trailer just to show the audience she's a bad a$s new double -O who will give Bond a run for his money. I couldn't decide if I thought she was going to come across as cool and heroic, or annoying and unlikable.
Frankly lines like "The world has moved on, Commander" are beginning to feel cliched and forced to me. The audience knows the Bond films have been around for decades.
A line like that might have worked fine in GOLDENEYE. But that was 1995. We don't need to keep being reminded that Bond is a relic from the past who needs to keep reinventing himself to keep up. I hope Bond has a snappy comeback in the final film.
John McClane might have responded by saying: "No f**king sh*t, Nomi!"
yes.. this i agree with.. i can see Nomi being what Bond was in CR - very brash and quick to jump into a fight without assessing the situation first.. i think Bond's experience, and her lack of it will ultimately be her demise..

But after the trailer my meter of "Malek will end up being Dr. No" jumped from 0% to..well..more than 0% haha
And that made me think..since this is Criag's last movie....and I came up to something that I wouldn't be too shocked if the studio does that
Well, in TDKR Bane apparently says: "I'm Gotham's Reckoning", but whenever I watch it, he clearly says "Rectudy". Which is not an existing word, at least in English (or is he referring to "rectum", meaning, he is Gotham's pain in the a**).
And when Bond talks to Nomie, he says "You are a 00?", the subtitles, however (you could make our English teacher go mad, when you translated it with "wie auch immer"/whatsoever), say "You were 00?".

'Zen and the Art of Meditative Maintenance'? Probably not entirely correct, the image is too blurry. But 'The Complete Book of Sea Fishing' seems right, also considering the harpoon gun and the whole setting of the Jamaican hut on the shore.

While all of that is interesting, I’ve played the trailer for 13 people at this point and without suggesting either Him or You, when asked, all say they hear “Him” .

Had a look at those book titles, but could't make out what's written on the spines – other than The Complete Book of Sea Fishing and Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, which @TripAces mentioned above.
Is that light blue one called Welcome Aboard, perhaps?

2. This is a difficult one. Bond is not the one who killed Severine. And Bond did not exploit her; he attempted to be her protector. Unfortunately, it didn't work out that way. And Bond's line is meant to be a distraction.

Looking further at the set decorations, next to the books there's also a chessboard. I don't think that it will play a role in any of the scenes, other than being a nice detail to give the audience a general idea of how Bond spends his free time (assuming that's his place).
Oh and it can serve as another answer to the hardcore trivia question about Bond films featuring chess :D

So therefore the outright Dymo Rhino can come into play. Non-adhesive, but "Stainless Steel Embossing Tape" by the same company. Can be cut to size.
As much as some people think its too woke, i actually enjoy her from what little we have seen. I think at the end of the day there is plenty of room for her to be a traitor. How good would that be? Then he can get his number back without a problem and the general audience still has a strong female type bond character but she just happens to work for Malek.
Also heaps of friends who have never been interested in Bond now suddenly are because of lashana and Malek so thats great news.
Exactly. And, if anything, it makes it more satisfying when Bond is the one who saves the day.
She's got a great presence; she is sexy, and; has one helluva hot voice.

Absolutely. I've no doubt that it's intentional and that Lynch will bring it to life extremely well. I'm sure any verbal sparring they have will be a highlight of the film.
Returning to it now I hear "him", and lipreading seems to indicate that as well. However, in the spirit of dubbing and film-making most anything in the final product is possible. Even different from what's available for audit at this time.
