In the words of Maxwell Smart..."Great working 99!" Really appreciate the heads up about free shipping on folio society! Just saved myself £20! Diamonds are forever and Goldfinger are making their way to me to join the others on the shelf.
Thanks @Some_Kind_Of_Hero - a shame about not packaging all the expanded CDs. Hopefully in the future...will look into TWINE. Thanks.
If anyone doesn't own any of the Folios yet, there's an additional 15% off if you buy them all together.
Hurrah! They've extended free shipping till Monday, if anyone was slow off the mark.
It certainly is and I've just bought it - thank you!
Thanks! I just ordered a copy. Had been holding off.
That never happens with me, sadly. I got it a little cheaper than the Black Friday price as it was a "Like new" copy. I've read good things about it so looking forward to getting it.

Lovely stuff. Were they recent acquisitions, @M_Balje? I'm especially interested in the Colonel Sun one. They both sound like great bargains! Where did you acquire them?

May I just say how lovely and public-spirited an idea that is, dear @Agent_99! I'd expect nothing less of you, of course. :)
It's kind of like the Gideon Bibles you find in hospitals and hotel rooms etc. Only in this case it is in the cause of the spreading awareness about the Bond Continuation! I think I remember you saying you did this already with other spy books etc.?
I'd also like to note how appropriate the promotional wording in that Aldi page link is: "Helps shape broader cultural life." You're certainly helping to do that with your kind and considerate actions too, @Agent_99! It's just a pity we don't have Aldi stores here in NI, though we have had Lidl here for years.
Yes - if I get a duplicate Bond cheaply (and this is rare these days) I add it to the stash so I can take one on holiday with me and leave it if I find a take a book/leave a book shelf.
Can't wait to be out and about in the world doing that again!
Yes, I think that's a really great idea. Given the amount of duplicates I have of some of the Bond novels in my collection I'm sure I could do the same. The trouble is I'm never staying in hotel rooms!
I also agree with your point about rarely getting Bond books cheaply nowadays. Gone are the days of the 1990s or early 2000s when I first bought a lot of my secondhand Bond paperbacks. Books were mostly dirt cheap back then. That can't really be said of books today though. That said, I do tend to buy Bond books if I see them as long as they're not at prohibitive prices! ;)
Yes, it's a nice memory for some of us. I bought my first set of Flemings, well most of them, back at a second-hand book store next to a hotel I was staying at in the early '80s. Also picked up my first TV Avengers novel there too. I've been lucky to still pick a few up here and there. It was very easy to get a set or near one back then.
Not sure where everyone is from, but in the U.S. we have bookstores called Half Price Books that mix bulk newer books and used books and you can still find some Bonds for a good price, although some go for anywhere from $1-$3 for so-so copies. Always plenty of abused copies of Gardner titles. I've actually got a couple books for half of the original cover price of the '60s Signet series. One of the best such purchases were 3 near-mint copies of the Snelling book "OO7: A Report."
