Spectre was, for me, somewhat of a disappointment. But for what it’s worth, Sam Mendes is a maestro of building tension with silence. It’s no wonder why a couple of my favorite moments in the film are ones with little to absolute no dialogue, such as:

    1. Bond vs. Hinx train fight
    2. Bond, Madeleine, & the Silver Wraith
    3. Bond finds Mr. White

    1. Bond's final meeting with Mr. White
    2. Pre Title Sequence in Mexico
    3. Bond vs Mr. Hinx on the train

For me, I'm not a fan of many apart from -

    1. Bond meeting Mr. White
    2. Bond and Madeleine in the hotel room (before she falls asleep)
    3. Bond vs Hinx

Spectre is a weird one for me, I don't out right hate it but I find it more frustrating as for what it did for Daniel's run as Bond. The whole interconnecting and that. Although it has a few great moments, here's my top 3.

    1. The train fight with Mr Hinx is epic, frankly it's the highlight of the movie. Probably in the top 3 fights in the series.
    2. I love the scene in the clinic were Bond fights the guards and Daniel actually hits the first guy (probably by accident) and tells the other guy to stay. Such a Bond moment.
    3. I love the initial opening tracking shot over the rooftops, (the swagger Craig has is right up there with Connery) from the bedroom up until the building begins to come down.

    1. PTS. The whole thing: the skull mask, the music in the lift, the “where are you going?”/“I won’t be long,” the oh-so-confident walk along the edge of the roof, the little skip he does when he goes from one building’s roof top to another’s, the little run-up to the shooting position, the “bottoms up”, the explosion, the Mexican dancers swirling around in their weird dress things, the beat of the music, the punch-up in the helicopter.

    2. Sciarra’s funeral and the next bit in Lucia’s house when Bond takes out the assassins (i suppose that’s two scenes though in which case I am cheating)

    3. The Spectre meeting. Blofeld’s entrance. Adjusting the microphone. “Don’t let me interrupt you.”

The movie should have ended when they escape Blofeld’s meteorite crater base, in my opinion. Just stop it there. I’d have been happy

Yes, I agree. Big mistake to return to London!

I actually also agree with this, the London portions are when things get really really stupid (once tbh whole author of all your pain and brother reveal stuff already set the bomb off) but then as awful as that is, they make it worse with those pictures of past villains and M, Madeline being pointlessly captured and Bond dropping onto a trampoline or some crap and then you have The MI6 Scooby Doo Gang on the field, C's embarrassing death (why was he even in the movie?), The MI6 HQ blowing up (that really pisses me off) and then to top it all off, Bond taking out a helicopter with a Walther PPK somehow and then not even killing Blofeld off. It's just..wow, honestly I've never seen a movie absolutely destroy all the good it had built up within the span of 30 minutes or so, it's embarrassing. But to sum it up: yes I also think it should've ended at the Spectre base when Bond and Madeline escape. It would've made the movie a lot better

There has already been great explanations/insights to these scenes - but these would be my 3 favorites:

    3. Bond & Mr. White - "You're a kite, dancing in a hurricane Mr. Bond...."
    2. Bond & Lucia - "Then you're obviously crazy, Mr...."
    1. Spectre Meeting - "Cuckoo... Cuckoo...."

Spectre really is an excellent film - I get the impression it's not universally loved and, yes, there is some nit-picking I could do. But, overall, there are so many great scenes and it's an overall stunning, clever, and exciting film and a cut above the vast majority of the 007 Series.

The Star Wars prequels were universally panned when they came out, and now, given time, they're being looked upon more favourably. I wonder if the same thing will happen with Spectre.

    1. PTS
    2. Spectre Meeting
    3. Train Fight
    4. Torture Scene

I know, I have four. If I had to remove one, I'd remove the meeting.

    1) Mexico City helicopter fight
    2) Train fight
    3) Bond in Rome, first scene of the city while driving, later Tiber car chase (never been to Rome, want to visit)

I thought the SW prequels were almost universally loathed.

Sorry, what exactly is 'clever' about this film??? 🤔

Lately there’s been a renaissance among the Star Wars fan base. Probably because they don’t love the sequel trilogy.
