That would be amazing. “I Expect You to Die” is certainly Bond inspired, but it’s basically just puzzle solving.
This way the developers will have all access to the source material to create digital adventures.
As long as we get a new game I don't care who develops it really I have given up on Ubisoft montreal rocksteady or heck even telltale

sigh why EON why
If the rumour of EON selling the series on, then I hope the next owner has an eye on the videogame industry. There is so much that could be done with the licence. And what are we getting? Bloody scratch cards. #-o
If Craig isn't going to voice it then they shouldn't use his likeness either.
Somebody had the idea of setting the games apart from the films by giving them their own Bond, M, Q, etc. I think that's a good idea.
I also think a create a Bond game could be cool, where you design how Bond looks and choose from different voices.
but how many of those studios are approaching EON or MGM about making a Bond game?.. for all we know, EON may want to dip there toes back into the gaming market - i mean, why not - it's a bigger industry than films lol.. but those studios may not be approaching them with any inquiries or offers... most studios these days aren't interested in movie tie-ins anymore, they are relics of a bygone era - and Bond games since GE64, have really been largely centered around the movies.. also - the sales numbers for the last 3 console Bond games were less than par, or even downright pathetic - there's plenty of blame to go around on why thats the case, but the fact remains, poop in box outsold the Bond games lol.. so studios will also look at that and go "is it really worth it? if these titles didn't sell, what is the public interest for another, and should've we invest millions into it?"
personally, i think the market is ripe for a brand new 007 gaming adventure - the market for espionage games is pretty thin, and with other titles like Uncharted or Tomb Raider on a bit of a hiatus, Bond could swoop in and really have an impact again... but i feel like it's going to have to be a newer, smaller studio with nothing really to lose to take a stab at it.. Triple A developers are going to steer clear.

but sadly nothing came of it I suspect and this is just a guess they got the licence and was going to do it but they also went bankrupt the same year solstice was rumored to be released... so likely telltale realized they couldn't do a full season of solstice (my guess is they had maybe 2 episodes ready for launch by E3) and scrapped the full project.
this is just a wild guess mind you but it fits.
in a way though, i'm glad we dodged the Telltale bullet.. i dont want a Bond point and click adventure - i would take 007 Legends Part 2 over a Telltale Bond game
I would take telltale over nothing.
Also as a point of reference if let’s say Solstice happened and made money who is to say the IO or Ubisoft wouldn’t also try their hand as well I mean both Rocksteady and Telltale and Netherrealm were doing games with Batman who is to say this can’t happen with 007...
Though with all the odd characters in mortal kombat would 007 be honestly out of place and if so which bond would work best?
My money Roger Moore that patented karate chop could take down any mortal kombat character easily lol the eyebrows will do he rest of the work.
And one obvious question does Xbox Game Studios or Playground Games have the rights to 007 now and we all just missed it based on the bond car dlc for Forza Horizon 4
Agreed
You...haven't read the Last of Us 2 leaks, I take it?
Though the reaction to those leaks is stupidly, ridiculously overblown, even if TLOU2 ends up bad, the first game and five Uncharted games is enough for me to believe they can do Bond justice.
Hah no I haven't, and forgive me if it's all gone to shit. If I'm honest I have a lot more experience with Uncharted than Last Of Us and based on Thief's End alone, I'd give them Bond.
Uncharted and Last of Us 1 are a good few years behind us now, though. ND might not be cut out for Bond anymore.
True but there isn't really any way to know whether they are or aren't (unless the studio's gone through big changes that I'm unaware of). Their back catalogue seems a reasonable way to determine a good fit, but yeah, if it's been awhile that method becomes a little less reliable.
But man, Uncharted 4 made me a Playstation man out of me after a lifelong Xbox devotion.
My point is that Uncharted 4 was 5 years ago. If TLOU 2 is as shit as the leaks suggest, I wouldn't want them taking on Bond with that same crew.
the problem i have with Naughty Dog is the same i have with Rockstar.. they are perfectionists.. and while i admire the fact that they never release a game until they feel it's 120% of what they want it to be - it usually takes them YEARS to push games out.... call me impatient, but i dont wanna wait 5 - 8 years between Bond games.. The Last Of Us was released during the final year of PS3's life cycle, and the sequel is only now coming out in the final year of the PS4 lifecycle - thats 7 years, way too long... i'm not saying i would be happy with subpar efforts just to get more games - but there has to be a middle ground.
