As for Bond's flat. Yes, that would be absolutely amazing, if you take the elements of everything we know about it from the books and (to an extent) from the films, then insert it into 2012, it would come out amazingly well I think. Also - imagine Maggie Smith in the role of "May", the elderly Scottish housekeeper.
a good plot please
not to sound chauvinistic, but M's place is in her office, behind a desk... I want Bond to get his mission from M at the start of the film, and thats that... maybe a brief check in once... and then pop back at the end of the film.... it's no offense on Dench, but there is just too much - and she is friggin' everywhere but in her office for the majority of the films.. Bernard Lee and Robert Brown were rarely as mobile as she is..

let me also add, that in whatever capacity - i would love to see the 007 Theme return... not the traditional James Bond theme, but the other theme that they've used a lot - most memorably in From Russia With Love, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice, Diamonds Are Foever, and Moonraker.. i would love to see it return.... i remember reading somewhere, that Arnold isn't opposed to using it - but is reserving for when James is at his most Bondian moments (?)...... christ, just use it already... especially for the 50th Anniversary..

The reason Arnold hasn't used it is because he's doesn't own the rights to it. John Barry or now rather his estate does, so until they let EON have the theme it can't be used.
A shame because as you say, Arnold does want to use it in the films. It would help the music a great deal in my opinion.
That should come as standard now, as M and Bond trust each other and Bond is now Bond.

- The return of the gunbarrel that opens the film
- Bond is a little more professional and M trusts his judgement enough not to comment on every little thing he does that is unconventional, she should know by now he's a good and trustworthy agent
- Little to no use of the flashy and overly-sensationalistic camerawork that plagued action sequences in QOS.
These changes would keep me a happy camper. :)
Someone said the Brosnan era was too much like the M.I. films and Craig's flicks were too similar to Bourne. I would almost agree with this but I don't think CR falls into the Bourne mould.

I want Q back. Give Bond a low key gadget or something! Q can even just show up in M's office a la From Russia With Love, give him a little something and f*** off! :-))
There's my two cents.
I'm ready for a new direction for the music of the series as well. It would have made sense to have done it for Casino Royale given the other changes that were made. The music is the one big area that I think EON does need to address.

Right you are Tubes. This needs to stop and EON need to realise what made Bond great back in the '60's. If they can do this, we may have a chance of a good film again.
1. A return to the John Barry style of cues/music but David Arnold making them his own in honor of the late great John Barry.
2. A reincorporation of the Snow Job/He's Dangerous/Golden Gate Fight music during the final fight/battle scene in honor of the late great John Barry. The best set of action musical pieces he ever wrote.
3. Moneypenny and Q brought back into the fold and in a big way.
4. Gadgets but nothing to crazy.
5. A damn great over the top (along the lines of Goldfinger/Blofeld type) villain that wants to take over the world or blow lots of stuff up!
6. A return to the standard Gunbarrel opening.
7. James Bond theme done without the electric guitar Johny Barry style from the 80's. That version was the definitive final version and also should be done in honor of the late great John Barry.
8. A return of Jaws as a henchman (I don't give a damn how old he his).
If I can get 1-7 then great. Number 8 though would be a real bonus.
The most important thing though and an absolute must is that the regular gunbarrel opening must be back and in the very beginning of the film! There is no reason why it should not be. I was very much shocked when Casino Royale didn't have the traditional gunbarrel opening and was puzzled even more that QoS had it at the very end! Albert R. Broccoli would be rolling in his grave if he knew the BS that was going on!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The second most important thing is that Moneypenny and Q are back plus gadgets.
Anyway, that's all for now!

I think that several of these things listed would have little impact on a really good Bond film. Q and Penny are good characters but not essential. A memorable theme song is a nice idea but several of the best theme songs are attached to bad Bond films.
Agree with 1 and 4 though.
Bond does need that kind of physical challenge, which is something he hasn't really had from any of the villains he's fought thus far. Granted, there have been some rather physical scenes, such as the stairwell fight, but there haven't been any times where the villain/henchmen has been one where you could actually look at him as something of a threat to Bond.
What I'd like to see is for Craig's Bond to get a Trevelyan-type villain. Not necessarily in the form of a former Double-oh agent, but just somebody who is cut from the same cloth that he is, someone who can match him step for step both physically and mentally.
