  There's a chap called Andrew Ellard who was going to do some very interesting analyses of Quantum of Solace (he's a TV script editor and has really fascinating insights into how stories work) but unfortunately he got shut down. Such a shame because I would have been very interested to hear his thoughts.

  I'm not sure if this was intended but the prolonged and repeated opening of Arnold's "The Names Bond...James Bond" definitely exaggerates the comedy in M having to address six 007s. There's potential in the idea of an Elseworlds animated adventure featuring all six cinematic incarnations of Bond working side by side. "The Bond Team."

  I was expecting those to be awful, but they're probably not too bad. I think the only issue is that Bond is the star of his world, without him you're kind of adrift.
  Weirdly though a Scaramanga series I could almost imagine working: actually make him the anti-Bond in an adult series (called The Man With The Golden Gun, naturally) where he lives the high life just like Bond but goes around killing people for money or pleasure... I'm not hating that...
  
  Young Bond would be good but the problem is they'd try and aim it at kids/young adults (like that Alex Rider thing), which weirdly would mean it could never be as grisly and dark as the actual YB books, even though they have the same audience.

  That's basically how I feel about the deal as well. If they can't get Bond films out quickly enough then there's definitely no need for them to be splitting their focus further by working on side projects with little connection to the real Bond.
